LG HT855 home theater

hi all
I bought my ht855 in the february 2011 and few days back I purchased a ASUS full hd dolby/dts media player HDP-R3 having s/pdif optical and hdmi out and than i connected it with my home theater via optical cable and played the movie (720p + AC3 6ch) . sound coming from my lg home theater was very abnormal.

please tel me why LG HT855 is not able to decode the dolby 6ch audio pass through.

what does the LG say about the audio? Does it show that it is receiving the channels (is it 5.1?) from your ASUS

yes whenever i play 5.1 it shows that file is dolby digital or dts

Ok so what you need to do is to figure out if its an issue with Asus or LG.

Is the LG is able to play DVD's or USB movies with all the channels correctly?
Did you try playing the same movie any other way (like copying it on to a USB and playing it on the LG)? How does it sound?
Is there a coaxial output from the Asus which you can try?
Can you take your player to friends place or somewhere you can try out?

yes, my home theatre works fine when i play 5.1 channel content through USB or dvd in lg home theatre
