I bought my LG QNED81 55" after a lot of search and googling and which inevitable lead to a lot of confusion (because there was not much material - sorry - NO material available for LG QNED81 during September / October). Made the decision purely based on the technology employed (IPS + Nano Cell).
The apprehension has lowered by quite a notch after a lot of tweaking and learning (because you don't need to fiddle much with a plasma - need to set only 4 parameters - Contrast, Brightness, Color and Sharpness - just 4 settings).
And, the icing on the cake - I came across below comparison from the trusted source...
