No doc, why do you think so? I own it.

BTW, they are not even in the same league (in price or technology or performance) to compare!
The CDP is just a transport I would not waste time A/Bing it. What is comparable is Teac UD H01.

501 is Teac's reference DAC and the ones that they made better than this carry Esoteric badge.

But if you really want to know; the CDP sounds shitty compared to UD-501 and Caiman too is forced to retire after a long convincing journey.

In short, this is a killer DAC and I am so glad I acquired it.

I will post my impressions in sometime.
For now, I am struggling to switch it off and end a session. :)

Congrats, Santy! Do pen down a review when you've settled down with the DAC :)

great review Santy.... I have been thinking of Actives (Sonodyne SRP Series) too for both stereo/HT listening... I hope you can connect them to a receiver with pre-outs.....

What speaker specifications should one consider for 14 x 11 room.. I don't know what speakers would be too big (or) too small... Your thoughts please....

Hi elangos

Yes you can consider a full active setup for your HT.
Room size is small so may be SRP203 would be ideal for fronts and SRP202 or 201 for the rear depending on the budget.

Yes you can connect to an AVR with preouts or to a preprocessor as I have done.
