marantz service

Is it true that marantz av receivers are more prone to repairs and faults than yamaha??...and also marantz service is one of the poorest in india...
I really like the marantz sr5007 to go with my polk rti a7s...but now i am having second thoughts about it....:sad:

yamaha is known for its reliability and also they do have a service centre in my city...so am i better off buying the yamaha (rx A820)....they both hav almost identical specs...
pls comment those having marantz products....

I had taken service from Marantz distributor in Bandra, Mumbai for stereo amplifier. IMO excellent service and support

The good thing about YAMAHA and ONKYO is that both have their own companies on indian soil. So, the company gives you service.
But for MARANTZ, it's the distributor who sources components from abroad for repair.So, until their is a MARANTZ INDIA you have to rely on the distributor, and all cities don't have a distributor.
