If you have auditioned the above system and happy with it then go for it. I would recommend to check with Bass N Treble and also Onkyo site and Sound (mr. Sanjeev) Chitaranjan Park for best rates.

Just curious to know why you are not adding surrounds (Think can add for another 10-12K). That will be an awesome experience.

Note: No affiliation with any of the seller

Hi Vinay

i will add surrounds soon, budget is little bit tight for now.

how would you rate my selection of AVR and speakers.. any other speakers which you think i should audition.

And according to you can other beat this price.. please give me the details as PM.

Thanks,
Sunil

You have not mentioned if this is for movies only or for music also.
I'm no expert, but while Marantz is good for both, usually Polk is good for movies and not so good for stereo. This may not apply to all models, though.
Have you auditioned any other speakers and systems? Please do if you haven't. It's always a good idea to hear as many as you can.
Marantz is supposed to go well with Dali or Focal as per posts on the forum.

Hi Sunny,

Marantz SR AVR is a good choice and has enough juice to bring out the best in decent speakers you pair with it. Polks are good for movies but not that great for music...have you checked Boston Acoustics? They are quite good in terms of performance and value for money..they pair well....

Kind Regards

hi
the most important speakers for movies is center followed by sub then others
the most imp spkr for music is fronts followed by sub
so invest accordingly
if music is ur prefrence invest in good pair of fronts wait then go for other spks
this is my opinion

Sunny I see that you are based in Gurgaon..you can check with Sid Trehan from Sound by Design in sector 22 Gurgaon, as suggested by some other fellow FMs also in other threads, he deals in Marantz and also represents servicing for Marantz. He will be more than happy to help.
cheers

Bro.. are you talking about "Boston Acoustics A 26 Bookshelf Speaker"

As suggested i will audition them as well.

Thanks for your help!

You started this thread and discontinued earlier one? Sorry I didn't notice and put up this question in your earlier thread, "on what basis are you giving preference to Marantz SR 5008 over Denon X 2000? Did you audition both? Even I am planning for AVR for my Q acoustic 2000i. Please let us know"

Hi Captain,

I have not discontinued my earlier threads, this is specific for "Marantz SR-5008 AVR + Polk Audio Speakers"

I have not auditioned Denon based on reviews from different people/distributors.. Few even said that they discontinued Denon because of the technical faults that it has been having in the recent past. they recommending Yamaha or Marantz over Denon. they also said that the distributor for Denon in India, which was Pro FX, has also discontinued Denon. I am not sure how true this is.. :)

You should spend as much time as possible to audition/demo AVR/Speakers before you actually buy. Go with what you like..

Now someone said you should also look for Yamaha RX V677 (HDMI 2.0, 4K Ultra HD upscaling and MHL support) which launched few month back.

Ashwin84 is right

also audition KEF Q300/R500 & PSB B6/T6

dali zensor fits in the budget too i guess

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
