Hi,

A couple of days back I downloaded a mkv file of around 4.15 gb (TRUE LIES), which played fine on the PC. But when I tried to play off the WDTV LIVE player which is attached to my 29" TV, it just simply won't play.

Well, this is not the first instance that the player didn't play a particular file, I do have some other movies too, which the wd player didn't play. I noticed that the player acts funny with some mkv files. As a matter of fact, I have mostly large mkv files which the player plays fine.

Any suggestions from our pals to overcome the issue.

Thanks and regards

@baijuxavior,

Can you guide me as to after downloading the mkv tool, how do I go further. I mean how to remux it, I have never done it before.

Thanks for the prompt reply

It is very easy. After you start mkvtoolnix, click the add button and select the mkv or mp4 file you want to remux. You can also drag drop the file to the 'input files' list. You can also remove audio streams by removing the tick mark in the 'tracks, chapters and tags' list. At the bottom change the output file name to something else and then press the 'Start muxing' button. You are done. Play the file. Delete the original. Simple.
