My Home Theater Hunt....

I dont think thats technically possible. These are not resistors that you can put in series. The speakers have crossovers and the load is impedance and not resistance to be connected serially.
They don't have any crossover, simple full range speakers.

I have decided to buy a Yamaha RX-V585 and I am going to buy it today. I am leaning towards FS because I will not able to buy the Sub in upcoming 2 years. The dealer only has Yamaha FS under my budget (25K - NS -F71). He has Klipsch and Jamo which are over my budget.
Also I will try to check Yamaha NS-F160.
Please confirm if NS -F71 will pair with RX-V585

Here is the speaker specs

Here is the AVR specs

It will match....also the sensitivity is on higher side so there should not be any performance issues.....there would be decent playback....

If you can stretch for the RX V 685...you will get almost 115 - 120 watts RMS 6 ohms power which is good....

Your call.....

I want to buy RX V 685 but not able to do so because of a budget issue.
If I buy RX V 685 I will not able to buy front speakers.

whats the best price you are getting the 585 and 685 for? Any discounts offered? Check with all possible dealers?

Yamaha NS-8390 & NS-F71. F71 is good for music but don't like the performance for the movies. Bass was not that good.
Speaker purchase is pending for now, first I was thinking about FS but for a budget issue, I have to choose a pair of BS only.

The budget for BS is 16K, what do you suggest?

Check the wires.....re insert them and try again...ensure proper polarity and the bare wires dont touch the avr body.....

There are lot....choose the ones which fit your expectations in terms of size, appearance overall performance etc. Audition is important...

Look at Polks, Taga, Bostons, Pioneers, Bose (201s)

What about MISSION LX-2 (20K - Hifi Mart) & The Wharfedale Diamond 220 (18K - Hifi mart), Boston Acoustics CS 26 (16K - Amazon)
This will sound better than Bose 201 or not?
