Hi Friends

First I would thank Aniket to help me out on my thread http://www.hifivision.com/diy/64217-can-some-one-verify-my-pcb-schematic.html to check the PCB which i made from schematic of 30 Watt Jean Hiraga downloaded from Jean Hiraga's Super Class-A Amplifier

As the original Transistors were not available in Market If they are, they are too damn costly, Aniket suggested be a very cheap replacement, & I really thank him for that. (Only Output transistors I used are as per Original Schematic)

Below is the Pic of 1st R & D PCB,

There were some mistakes which i solved and made this PCB working, and for the Surprise I cannot belive my ears, for the Sound Quality delivered by this 30 Watt Amplifier. The details of Sound was just way beyond from my imagination... It was just WOW each and every Instrument was crystal clear. I earlier few months back had built Crescendo ME 90 Watt version, With Companion to Crescendo, Jean Hiraga is far ahead in all aspects.

After solving up the Problems from R & D PCB, I made Another PCB which is a final outcome, The Size is also smaller than the 1st PCB the Dimension of NEW PCB is 80 x 100 mm. Below is the Photo Both of 1st PCB & Final PCB.

If any one willing to Built Class A Amplifier i can suggest him to built Jean Hiraga 30 Watt version & I am 101% Sure u wont feel down.

Excellent build .. you did it from scratch great efforts.

Could you please post components used and expenditure incurred for the build?

What was the cost of PCB fabrication? What voltage and power supply board you are using?

Please also do post PS pics.

Congrats on the build

Regards
Bilal

Wow!! That looks neat!
What about the power supply!? Can you please post more details about the build and power supply!?

The Power Supply details are mentioned in Schematic. Below is the Pic

For Testing Purpose the Power Supply was as below.
Transformer was 22-0-22 150VA, Bank was 10000uf/100V x 4

For Final use I will be following the Original Power Supply Schematic as Shown in Pic. Instead of 22000uf/50V x 3, I will be 8700uf/71V x 10 Nos for each Channel & use transformer as suggested in Schematic.

This Project will take time as the investment is also high, Major cost is related to Heat Sink, Power Supply & Enclosure.

very true! keep updating this thread with your progress and all the best!!

75 v will give better leeway than 50v if the transformer is wound for 220 V and your input power in 230 to 235 volts. Thus a 25 0 25 may give upto 28 0 28 volts at the secondaries which after rectification will go upto 28 x 1.44V = 40V at the capacitors. Thus leeway will be of 10V for 50v caps and 35V with 75V ones. The later is safer as large capacitor explosions are terrifying. I have personal experience.

Yes, if using the transformer in the schematic then 70V rated caps would be the minimum that you should be using just to err on the side of caution.

Hi FM's

Yesterday I started to make the PCB for Power Supply. I was tring to upload Pic of PCB (Computer Design) but for some reason its not uploading in my Google Drive.

Below are the Pics of Power Supply PCB (in Process)

Wow,

Sadik, great effort.!!! congrats on your build and new PCB design. excellent DIY skills.
starting from your first PCB layout and now with new PCB and power supply finished boards, this is progression. really commendable.
Just a few tips, considering the original schematic, use a 4~10uf non polar cap, preferably MKP, in series with amp input, just to block any DC to be fed in the amplifier.
use mica washer with ample amount of silicon grease(heat sink compound), instead of silicon pads for better heat conduction from output transistors to heat sinks.
best wishes for your build and hope to see more DIY fanaticism from you.

Aniket

All Thankx to u dear Friend ... U took ur time to read the schematic and tally the same with my PCB layout, you pointed out the faults and gave me suggestions... U Helped me out a lot... My built Journey would not have been succeeded without ur Help.

Once again thank you very much.

Sadik

Hi Friends,

Both the Kits are ready, testing has been done and both are working fine. Its a little long Journey to complete this Project. Mean while thought of making some Speaker Protection Kit & while surfing i came across a good Circuit "Speaker Turn On Delay and DC Protector Board Set (V3)" which is mentioned in diyaudio forum. Below is the link for same.
Speaker Turn On Delay and DC Protector Board Set (V3) - diyAudio

PDF Built Guide : https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0ahUKEwiol63z3KDPAhUGOI8KHb9cDPQQFggqMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.diyaudio.com%2Fmedia%2Fbuild-guides%2Fdiyaudio-speakerprotector-build-guide-v1.0.pdf&usg=AFQjCNGMDiI4OCWD_x4SYmijI2HTyyj1dQ&sig2=CyPOjXWudBbcdeqiCVFD0Q&cad=rja
So i decided to make one with my own layout. The Board size is 90 x 60 mm. Below is the PCB layout done by me. I am using Diptrace (Demo Version)
