I have following setup

Room size 9*9
Screen 92 grandview liberty - white
Projector BENQ1070
Setting - Cinema
Lamp - Smarteco mode
Lamp Mode - Cool
Ceiling color - White
Wall color - Cream

I am feeling that, the projector is filling my room with bright light and at times its distracting.

I read somewhere that, we can use ND filters to cut down the light.
Would like to know if anyone has used such filters / any suggestions / any pros / cons to use it.

also, should I look for ND2 or ND4 please?

No need for any ND filters.

Change the settings to these to reduce light -
Lamp mode : Economic
Bright colors : off
Lamp mode : Normal or Warm (especially if the projector/lamp is new)
Set the brightness and contrast as per THX levels which for this model is somewhere around 30-40 for contrast and about 55-60 for brightness.
Make sure that your gamma setting is not very off than the standard settings.

To reduce the ambient room light from the projector, consider painting your room to darker shades and preferably in matt finish.

After some hours of use the brightness will anyway go down !
