I had been using a 2010 Sony HT model DAV-DZ290K for long. Now it turned out that while Movie DVD playing experience had been great on this system, it does not sound as great with Tata Sky HD, as it accepts only 2 CH input returning back from the TV. Setting the DEC mode to "Dolby Pro Logic II" also does not give good performance. Also there is no other HDMI or S/PDIF input port on this model.
So I have decided to upgrade the HT. Today only I sold the old system for Rs 5000/- on OLX. (Did I get a good price ?).
Meanwhile I was looking at various options such as
1. Sony DTH HT - Model no. HT IV 300 (the So called DTH HT
)
2. Yamaha YHT 196
3. Yamaha YHT 299 / 2910
My requirements and specifications are :
1. Should get good movie watching experience from DTH (Tata Sky HD i.e.)
(same or better than the Sony model mentioned above, but with DTH input)
My living room dimensions as 11 ' X 15 '
2. I should be able to add more video inputs in future (such as PS/XBox)
3. Not sure if I should care about 3D/4K/UHD compatibility. Frankly speaking I'm ok with 1080p HD as well.
4. My Panasonic TV (Th42V20) does have an S/PDIF port and so does Tata Sky HD box.
5. Budget : 40K max.
6. Should be able to stream media from Internet. For e.g. YouTube videos, Gaana.com songs
7. Should be able to stream music locally from my cell phone to the HT using
either Bluetooth or Miracast
Please suggest me a HT that fits on most of these criteria.
Also where do you suggest to buy from ? Online or in a Pune shop ?
