Dear Audio Guru's

Few Months back i had purchased Sonus 2605 V3 along with Sia 320 mainly for music purpose and planned to build up later

To complete the HT setup Recently Bought the Rest of the Gang ( Sonus C2501, Sonus R-ears v3 and Roaar 210 ) from their 26% discount offer

Now i need help in deciding which 5.1 AVR to get to complete the setup
I need ones which would have pre outs and which would do justice to the gang

Right now My source is DVD player-->Bushmaster MKII TC-7533-->Sia 320

My budget would be around 30 k

How about Marantz NR1402 ...will it do justice to the setup

awaiting advices

anybody...somebody

if you are looking for an AVR with Pre outs, you may not be able to find them in 30K price india.... If you plan to get it from abroad then you are good to go....

Marantz NR 1402 is an underpowered AVR for your setup... But if you plan to add Sia 320 for Front L + R speakers, then would be good.... But what would you do with DAC ?

Elangoasthank you for respondingactually I was awaiting some response from you :yahoo:

Basically I want to use the AVR for surround ,center and sub and use the
Sia 320 for stereo

What I plan to do is ( Guide me if I am wrong somewhere along the line :))

Connect the front L+R to the Sia 320

Connect the Center +Surround+Sub to the AVR

Connect The DVD player to the AVR thru HDMI

Connect the DVD player to Sia 320 thru Analog ( advise if I can do this
simultaneously with hdmi connection to avr )

Run the analog out of DVD to DAC and then to stereo amplifier

Connect the AVR to Sia 320 thru pre outs for use of Front L + R in 5.1 set up

Also if I need sub for music can I connect it to sia 320 instead of AVR that way I can use it for music as well as movies

I can get AVR from abroad but again have a tight budget

Which AVR with pre out do you think would fit into this setup properlywith minimum budget :)

Awaiting your thoughts on this sir

p.s Do you think there is scope of having a htpc / wd tv live in this setup

Hmmm.....I followed some of your question, didn't for some....Anyways not a prob...

If you want to use the FS + Sia 320 + DAC for stereo, leave it as it is.....

If you add a Sonus 1501 BS to your rest of the setup, you have 2 diffrent setup for stereo & HT... You don't have to take the hassle of the connections

Alternate lively you can think on these lines....

You can connect your AVR Pre-outs to Sia 320 --> connect the front L & R speakers to it permanently....This will give you the power for the FS...

For stereo, you can take the DVD digital out & connect to DAC --> Take Analogue out from DAC & then connect it to AVR Analogue in..

So stereo & HT both are taken care... But not sure how it would sound, since there are many components in the chain....

For HT the above chain also will work perfectly as you would be using the HDMI connection of the AVR...

Reg the connectivity of the sub, it is better if connected to the AVR as it has a crossover setting...You can set it around 60Hz crossover since you are using a FS...

BTW 30K is a small budget only if you plan to buy it india... From middle East/Singapore/Malaysia you can easily get an midrange amplfiier for 30K...

My friend recently bought Onkyo TX NR 626 from Dubai for 28K :ohyeah: For these countries you don't need an step down transformers as it is the same voltage there too (220 - 240V)....

You can very well consider the Marantz AVR itself...

If you intend to use HTPC, then WD is redundant.... (I moved to HTPC from WD live Hub)

Complicated....complicated....complicated ! :)

Pardon me, I could be wrong but when you take the analog out of your DVD to 320 for front left and right, the analog out has already gone through the Digital to Analog conversion, has it not?

I think Marantz NR 1402 is not aval in hifimart.com.. It says Out of stock.... You may check with dealers in your city reg the model....

They have pre-outs for L & R channels, where you can connect your stereo amp to drive your FS.....

Onkyo's have Pre-outs in the AVR from TX NR 828, same way Yamaha also have it from RX V 775 onwards...

You can check for the same model of Marntz in Dubai
