Need help and inputs for a SW

Hi All,

I am planning to replace my existing SW with a new one and need inputs and places from where I can get a good price. The ones that I have short-listed are as follows:

SVS PB-1000
?BIC America H-100II
BIC America PL200

More or less the prices for the above SW are almost same when searched over the internet.

Valued suggestions from members would really be helpful.

Hi,

IMHO SVS is good for movies primarily but ok for music.

BIC subs are good for both.

Difference between PL 200 and H100ii is the cost (20k diff)

Output of PL 200 is 250watts continous 1000w peak sensitivity 110db freq 22hz - 200hz

H100ii is 175watts continous 500w peak sensitivity 90db and freq 24hz - 200hz.

H100ii seems to be more cost effective and is loud enough for an area upto 500 sq ft atleast.

Avenue Sound is selling the same...rates have gone up....if you are open to preowned, there are BICs for sale in Hi Fi Ads.

Yes. I am planning to sell-off my existing SW, but looking at the price being offered, I am planning to keep it and use as an additional SW. My existing SW is good for music, but I feel it is not enough for movies. I have a blend of both (i.e. music and movies)

As for the pre-owned option, yes, I spoke with the guy at who's house you had been for the demo of BIC speakers, but he wants to sell the entire 5.1 ch. He has informed me though, that if he gets someone for the rest of the speakers, he will get in touch with me for the SW.

Btw, the difference between PL 200 and H100ii is only around 10k now. So not much of an issue from the price perspective.

I am also looking from fellow FM who may have local dealer contacts who can offer better rates than online rates. I think I have managed to squeeze out the best rates over internet.

I am aware of the tech differences between the above SWs, but wanted to know if someone has heard these SWs first-hand and their opinion on it (I know you have already taken a demo of BIC )

Seems to be a good proposition from the seller, keep in touch with him.

There was another fellow member from Mumbai looking out for 5.0 speakers within 25k and perhaps you and he can join hands and close the deal with the BIC America guy ....provided you want the BIC subwoofer.....in my opinion 2hz difference is not much....unless you want 1000watts peak output!
