Hi Mukesh,
Thicker the cables, costlier they are. Shorter the run, thinner cables are sufficient. For your LCR channels, 16 Gauge should be more than sufficient. While 30ft ones need 14 gauge.

Calculate the total run of LCR and total run of surrounds and atmos. If your budget allows go for higher end cable like belden (tinned copper ones) for LCR and any local brands for the longer run lengths.
Alternatively, you can go for 14 AWG for all the speakers as well. All depends on how deep your pockets are.

You can visit cable crafts in SP road. They are authorised distributors of many brands. I bought Belden cables from them about 6 years back. They also have good OFC cables from local brands as well.
There are other cable shops in SP road which sell speaker cables as well.

Thanks for responding!

I visited and they have Belden 8471 and that is tinned cotted copper. Other one was Belden 1307A and that was OFC copper wire.
Second one was little almost double the price of first one.
Other vendor Bandridge 220+

Pls suggest.

Tinner copper are also good. Both belden SKUs have been in the industry over a decade. I trust Belden as their industrial data sheets are more convincing than other brands sold by HT installation companies which just say 4N 6N purity of OFC. That's my take!

Don't worry too much.. whatever suits your budget is the best cable. I use LAN cables for desktop system as the run lengths is less than a meter. They too sound good.

Can you mention the price per meter for each one's that you checked? It has been many years since I have enquired.

Belden - 8471 16 AWG not a OFC & tinned cotted on copper Rs. 100
Belden - 1307A 16 AWG OFC Bare copper Rs. 170
Bandridge- LC1154 1.5mm & OFC Rs. 220
Chetan - 1.5 mm & OFC Rs. 120
Auden: 16 AWG Rs. 90

One more catch is few brand used to mention thickness in AWG and few used to mention mm but 16 AWG is less than 1.5 mm.
