Folks, need a bit of help. I got carried away and purchased a mechanical keyboard to be used for various things but including gaming (so not a dedicated gaming keyboard). But two of the cherry keys have failed, and the keyboard is not usable. Is there someone in Bombay who you know of who can help? I can order parts etc. but am unable to get around due to tie constraints and travel etc. Thanks in advance.

Curious: what keyboard are you using? My brother's Razer Blackwidow failed in similar fashion.

Looks like the repair is not super complex, anyone who has decent soldering skills should be able to do it. You can check with local electronic repair guys and see if they can do it. Youtube video:

Hmm. I am using Das Keyboard 4Q...let me see. The problem is also with procuring the Cherry Keys and the re-assembly - has to be done delicately. I am afraid of damaging it. Thanks for this. So no specialist (anyway you are not from Mumbai) I suppose...

You can try TVS or HCL service . They might still have cherry keyboard spares .

Agree with yugaa... also most of the banks use the TVS Gold keyboards (now a days I heard they come with Chinese switches instead of Cherry MX Blue, so you might want to double check). If you know someone working at the banks they might have a dead TVS keyboard lying around, worth checking out. OR you may replace them with rarely used keys on your keyboard (like ~ or Scroll Lock).

Yes. But the problem key is the spacebar. so that is a unique key. But thanks for the suggestion guys. Will check these out.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
