Onkyo RC-360 from US

The onkyo rc-360 is retailing for $299.99 in Newegg.com site with free shipping. This model is almost similar to 609 except that it does not have the THX certified and a vga port. But the wattage/functionalities are similar. I checked the shipping thru the borderlinx site and the total amount is coming to 21k which includes everything. Is this a good price to get the receiver?

price is good if compared to 609,but onkyo rc-370 has edge with better power & multich input.

But the rc-370 is coming to $590 and exceeds my budget. The rc-360 is straight $200 discount and the price is coming to $299. I was planning for a 5.1 setup with a budget of 50 to 60k and rc-360 fits in the budget perfectly. I am planning to get the required speakers after demoing in Bangalore.

The usual thumb rule for stuff from US is if you can get it for 50% of the cost, then its worth the deal. Since RC 360 is a US only model you cant compare to Indian prices, but NR609 should be around 40K in the Indian market, so, you are just about making the cut at a price of 21K.

So the deal looks good when the step down transformer is added the total price should come around 25k. So is the price reasonable.

The similar model onkyo 609 is coming around 33k thru avenuesound.com whereas I am able to get the similar model at 21k excluding transformer. But even then negotiating the price with avenuesound I think he may come around 29k which might include the transformer but still the deal in newegg.com is very good compared to avenuesound even though both are US models. What do you think?

Is it I did not knew about this deal. Let me check with them. Also the newegg.com site which I was referring to is not allowing me to give the shipping address as borderlinx as it clearly specifies that the shipping and billing address of the credit card should be the same which in my case is different as I am trying to use my Indian credit card.

Make sure you use paypal services even with avenuesound incase if you decide to go with them.
