Onkyo TX-NR616 Pros & Cons

Most FW issues are fixed with the Oct 12 firmware. Denon 2113 compares most directly to 616 in terms of features, but its priced about twice that of 616!

Fixing of FW is very debatable. It is still a mixed bag atleast for US folks. Here is what people are saying about it with latest -ve feedback reported on 19th Mar.

There are quite a few poaitive reviews as well! Anyway I dont want to turn this into a debate.

Net net ut boils down to whether you wanna spend 2X the money for a 'stable' receiver or take a chance with Onkyo.

I took mine, and am happy about it coz my 616 is working like a charm!
In my case (and this is strictly a personal choice) I had really no option because I really havent liked Denon sound at all!

I bought a TX-NR616 from a UAE Classified website for AED 1100. I didn't find any issue until today
