Ordering new/used blu ray movies from Amazon

hi all,
i was planning to buy "Planet earth" blu ray series from amazon. The current price is 52$. But interestingly when i see more pricing

" 63 new from $27.70 50 used from $22.59 ".
what do u mean by above
used means some guy who has used it wants to sell. so i can understand.
But Does " 63 new " mean some other vendors selling via amazon.

I thought since blu ray discs are scratch free and we watch the same movie like 3 - 4 times max , why to buy new once. why not buy used one ?

Its far cheaper at 15 GBP (with VAT removed perhaps around 13) and you get free shipping to India, what more would you want.

The 63 new are from all vendors, incl. amazon. There is typically some shipping charges with other vendors, and the time to fulfill is longer

The difference in new and used is not much, so I would say go for the new one esp. since this is a series, that you end up watching many times.

Used is a refurbished copy of the new one and sold by sellers who are independently partnering with Amazon to utilise their services.

Also you are missing a whole bunch of shipping charges esp. if you are buying disks from independent buyers.

i will not ship it. The idea is to identify a used blu ray which is quiet cheap. Ship to one of my friend in US. Since a lot of my compay employees often travel back to india, i will ask my friend to hand over 2-3 disks.
if all goes as i plan, i can get 2-3 disks every week. That i why i was asking on the used blu ray discs.
