So I am in the process of building a tiny passive sub. https://techtalk.parts-express.com/blogs/wolf/1335679-triumph-criteria Already have the Driver and Passive radiators and while I have the ply cut to make the enclosure I will be redoing it in MDF as the ply is quite meh in terms of quality.

Originally I was thinking of pairing this with a pair of TABAQ speakers that I have built, but it seems this small sub won't necessarily add much to these. I was thinking of replacing my Aiyima A07 Pro with a Fosi BT30D Pro as that has the ability to drive a 2.1 system, but seeing as I would rather keep this sub independent and maybe use it with a set of PreSonus Eris 3.5's which I have in my bedroom and are being used as TV speakers, I am looking at a cheap/cost effective solution to drive the sub.

After browsing the forum one solution that I have come across is to use a car subwoofer amplifier. https://amzn.eu/d/dMXWGri

The above mentioned amp also has RCA outputs which would ideally be used to pass on higher frequencies to my active monitors.

Would be this a good idea given the cost of the amp + psu should be under 3K and would give me the option of using this independently?

Another option is to use this plate amp https://inkocean.in/products/active...x50w-100w-2-1-channel-tpa3116d2-digital-sound but I'm not sure how good the crossover adjustment will be

The car amp you mentioned will not be enough to give good amount of power to the subwoofer. You should go for a home subwoofer amplifier. Connect directly to wall socket. No need to buy a power supply or anything. It will be like plug and play along with rca out.
