Can someone suggest decent PCB fabricators from Kolkata? Schematic to PCB design service would be an added advantage. I tried a few but their top screening and tinning is really 3rd grade.

I can try from other city too, if there are better options. Mine are mostly single layer PCBs.

Dear Aritrim,

I have contact no for two pcb fabricators from Kolkata. I haven't contacted them yet. So I cannot comment on the quality. There is one manufacturer from Gujrat (I guess). You can check with them as well
http://www.pcbpower.com/. I don't have any experience with their pcb though.

Cheers,
Saikat

pcbpower is very good, they are little bit expensive but I don't regret spending more after receiving superb quality PCB. Some photos of PCB are here

Dear Aniruddha,

Just checked the photos. I bet they are really good.
I've used this type of PCBs for K-Buffer and the PSU. The PCBs were good.

However, I have one concern though. While working with another amp project on this type of pcb (looking at the photo it seems that the PCBs I tried are same as these), I found that they cannot bear the torture of 2-3 rounds of de-soldering/soldering. I soldered the components. The output devices were blown in the first go. I tried to replaced them and results were not satisfactory. During 3rd round of soldering, few traces came off. So in my case - I am not satisfied.
But for the K-Buffer, everything worked fine at the first go, so I did not have to go for any round of de-solder or such.

On the other hand - the PCBs that I buy from ebay, all are heavy duty and built like a tank. I love them.
To summarize - as long as I really don't need to go for a custom design or so, I think I will be getting my stuff from ebay only.

This is just my point of view. YMMV.

I'll second the recommendation of PCBPower (now part of Circuit Systems India Ltd.) for any fine double-sided or multi-layer PCB in prototype quantities. However, they may be too expensive for single-sided FR4, for which I found Caddline Systems in Chennai to be of reasonable quality and fairly competitive on pricing.

Regarding traces coming off during rework, it can happen with any PCB if the soldering iron temperature is too high, or the solder/flux is not of the correct composition. Some dense layouts cannot be easily reworked at all, especially if they have been soldered with lead-free solder.

I'll keep these points in mind.
I am really thankful to you sir for your timely help and for guiding me whenever required. I do consider this fact that you are a genius when it comes to audio designs.
I hope I would get help from you in future if I have any doubts or I am in trouble.

Thank you saikat, afj, aniruddha82 and linuxguru for your recommendations.

I will inquire and see who will entertain my small requirement :)

@Saikat, already talked to EMS yesterday, J Pakrashi. Seemed to be a very nice and co-operative person and very reasonable rates. I sent him some samples of the quality I am looking for, and awaiting his reply. Also, his factory is near to my place as I stay in Santoshpur. So he is willing to drop off the finished PCBs by themselves instead of courier.

That is awesome. Please do share your experience and photos when you receive those PCBs.

i second that. i purchased a discrete opamp from siva and it has made a huge difference to my dac

adding silver solder to tracks makes it a pretty thicker lined PCB than ever possible with fab PCBs.

whatz the best part .. if u follow the video you see no need to make the layout
