I have the above mentioned home theatre setup which is 5.1 and all. I just dont know on how to connect it with pc and still have 5.1 working.

You can have a look at internal/external sound cards with s/pdif outputs in case your receiver has one. I have used one from Creative and it worked like a charm.

System you mentioned doesn't have a digital/spdf input. So not possible.That why, if anyone would ask me about similar system,l used to tell just buy with spdf or optical input at least.

PC headphone out or LR out if available can only be connected to the DVD audio in. This will produce only 2 channel stereo sound
