Please suggest - the combination of AVR and speaker

Friends.

I have auditioned Polk RTi A5 driven with Denon 2113 AVR. I am really amazed with the output - its too good.
The power of Polk RTi A5 is 250 W at 8 ohm impedance and of AVE Denon 2113 is 85 W/per channel at 8 ohm impedance.
Please suggest me whether the AVR will be underpowerd or not for this speaker.
Please also suggest me if I do "Bi-Wiring" ( Not BI-AMPING ) whether the power supply to the speaker will be doubled or not ( I know there wont be sound effect differance ).

Did you audition any combination other than denon/polk?

AVR options are not much in Kolkata, there may be a CA AVR in SKS. But speaker wise, you may want to audition Mordaunt Short and PSB. MA goes well with Marantz, so if you like the sound of the MA speakers, you may consider the Marantz AVRs from hifimart along with MA speakers. Another member haisaikat uses Denon receivers with MA speakers, you cna get in touch with him to learn more about the pairing.

I feel that an 85 W/ch amp will be underpowered for a 250W speaker. I am not an expert but from what i have read, the avr/amp power output must be more than the rated power handling capacity of the speakers.

The RTI A5 has a Recommended Amp power ratings of 20 watts - 250 watts.

So anything in between is fine. As long as the AMP is not being overdriven to the point of clipping .
The A5 have a highish 90db sensitivity @ 8 ohm impedance so it is fairly easy to drive.

Yes it is always better to have more power on tap. Gives you more headroom for dynamic peaks
Usually double the speakers rms ratings.
However getting a 200 - 400 watt per channel is pretty much impossible. I don't know a single AVR that has these sort of power specs.

Playing extremely loud for long durations
You will hear the speakers distorting. This is usually due to the fact that the amplifier is clipping and sending distortion. This is a tell tale sign to turn down the volume
AVR's have protection circuits. so if the amp will go into protection mode and turn itself off.

Usually in mid sized Indian houses with sensitive speakers. it would be impossible to reach the clipping point of the amp.

However there are exceptions especially if the person is a semi crazed headbanger high on weed and probably a bit deaf.

However recently a FM in Pune who is using a Onkyo NR609 and MS Aviano 6 + center + surrounds etc
Discovered that his left front channel tweeter had stopped working. He got it replaced, A few days later his center channel's tweeter also went kaput.

He uses the rig purely for HT.
The first thing to blow due to irregular sine wave being sent by the amp is the tweeter.
He was pushing the 609 too hard.

When all the channels of the AVR are being used most entry level AVR's suffer and their overal wpc drops, way below their specified ratings.
Although the 609 is around 100 wpc . I suspect with all channels driven the overall wpc would be closer to 50-60 .

I checked With Marantz Sr5006 it has 100W. when I am playing songs,I found sound is very low at -10db.

Yes Marantz SR5006 for some strange reason is a weakling when it comes to power delvery. I have tried the SR5006 as well at my house.
