Query about Mission 34i and 35i

Confirm who all is interested in purchasing what & then i can squeeze the dealer for final price

@denom, I think it would be a good idea to fix a date and start to work from there.
From this thread I see the following in for the group buy,
@kaustubh
@sub_boss
@denom
@skdMrk
@1000W
Request you all to confirm the model/colour prefs so that denom can use the info for the final nego.
How about 2-Apr-2010 (Friday) as the cut off date.
@denom, pls PM me your contact number and I will call you.
Many thanks,
Manish

Would have loved the 35i for 25+2k but that seems to be no longer possible. I can confirm my buy for m34i. Provided cost is a max 19k + 2k(delivery).

Anything above that I feel the VFM factor for Mission would be lost and I would rather go for warf 9.5.

The quote denom got also seems to be too high. I was quoted 18k and 30k for 34i and 35i when I had called Vijay Sales in Jan !!!! Big tamasha going on here!!!

Really bad since suprateep and other members have bought the 35i for 24-25k just 6 months back and prices should have been lower now :sad:

Since skdMrk has already purchased from them maybe he could get the best deal if he has a contact.

@sub_boss has already bought the 34i. So that leaves the 4 of us.

Yes, I too feel the prices are on the higher side. On top of that the clown that I spoke to @ Viola, Vile Parle says that it is the best price...:mad:
Don't even talk about Vijay sales, I called 3 of their outlets & till date none has called back with the prices, even sent e-mail through their 'contact us' on their web site & no reply...:mad:

Have been going through the thread on craftel speakers & they seem to be a good buy so now am considering if they will be worth it....:rolleyes:

I was quoted 26K over phone for Wharf 9.5 couple weeks back. Hope to spare some time this week to check them out as well.

have been reading this thread with interest.

a. The guy at Viola ( to add to the description u used ) acts really strange. Quite a turn off really and so is the Savoy guy actually.. My experience at Voila and Savoy are well short of expectations and i never bought anything substantial from them.

b. The Mission M34i price at Vijay sales in Prabhadevi is 18K. M35i is quoted at 32K

Why have you guys decided for the Missions M34 / M35.. by that i assume your price range is anywhere between 18K to 34K. Have you explored good BS + sub combination ? or are all of you keen on FS only.

BTW, these Missions are Made in China. It would be interesting to know how they sound especially from members who have purchased this recently.

Hope all of you have heard the speakers and like them. All the best and do keep the group posted on the post purchase experience.

regards

Since skdMrk has already purchased from them maybe he could get the best deal if he has a contact.

I am not able to get in touch with my contact (Mr. Robert) at Vijay Sales, his mobile no. has been disconnected!!!

Guys from Mumbai, please try to contact Mr. Robert (who works at Vijay Sales head office at Prabhadevi) call them & ask for him. (I hope he is still working there)

I have auditioned Mission 34i,35i Jamo, warf 9.5, polk, tannoy, sonodyne..
found the m35i to be the best..
My room is around 25 X 15 so bookshelf won't do it for me unless I guess I buy a sub right away too. Didn't like any of the ones I listened to all that much either. Might as well keep my altec 5021..

Current budget is 25k stretched to the max!! So I was thinking of going for 34i and then add a DIY sub later if needed.

In fact was thinking about a tripath, BS + sub combo. Will be trying that for another system.

hey,

Robert is no longer at Vijay Sales.. try 022 24216010 and ask them to transfer to the home theater dept. last time i listened to M34i, there was this guy who showed tremendous patience..dont recall his name.

Hi mpw,

What is your take on the m34 & 35's??? My usage will be only for listening to music that too hard rock/metal, will go for floorstanders only as i do not like the attaching of sub woofer & such.
yes the Viola & Savoy guys don not seem to be interested in doing business....
Budget is max 25k...
heard Norge Millenium Book Shelves - find them good but for my music they need the sub woofer to accompany them....

Thanks for all your help!

Missions are great speakers. I particularly like m33i. But I find missions to be a tad bright in general. WIth Rock and Metal, you might experience ear fatigue after a while.

In your price range, try bookshelves from MA, PSB, Epos and Wharfies...

Hello,

Any idea on the availability and price of MH-3 surrounds and M32i? Would be interested in picking them up as surrounds for my HT setup.

:cheers:

denom,

why dont you like sub woofers ? have you already got a setup ?

For hard Rock / metal etc.. ( depending on room size ) do look up Energy / PSB etc..

But ultimately its your ear. Put on your fav music and test these speakers and if you like em.. pick em up..

I bet the energy's cost a bomb.... floorstanders that is... PSB's may be the same price wise.... as i said 25k is max budget I have at the moment... & I do not like the hassle of wiring the sub/making space for it/setting it etc, I like my speakers to be all in 1, hence towers it is....plus book shelves look tiny:rolleyes:
:lol: I know forget the looks go for the sound & such but I do not like doing this book shelves/sub woofer marriage..... I also am totally against the HT set up...
I very nearly went for the Norge Millenium Bookshelves, they do good justice to my music.... will be auditioning the Norge floor standers soon, maybe they will do the trick!;)

What did you not like in 9.5? I am also considering that as an option and my room size is similar as yours 26x14

I didn't find it too big an improvement over the 34i..

@denom - do let me know what u think about the norge floorstanders.. reviews are extreme (and i don't wanna buy without audition).. both PSB and Energy are way outta budget.. 40k + for FS :lol:
My budget too is 25k (MAX). Not worried about the looks/size of the speaker.. Bigger the better infact!! I also do keep listening to "bhaari" rock (meshuggah, dimmu..) but more into trance and softer music now.

(luckily :p) at our budget there aren't many options.. and mission FS seemed to be the best.

Finally !!! I meet another head banger on this forum!!!:yahoo::clapping::yahoo:
Sad that you are leaning towards trance & softer music now:sad:
Like the way you say 'bhaari rock' :ohyeah::D:ohyeah:

Where have you been getting the extreme reviews of the Norge Floor standers??? Norge has recently introduced a new model of floor standers they are 150w rms compared to 125 ones earlier.... When I visited the Norge Premises, they were loaned to A/V Max for testing.... will get a call from Norge when they have another pair ready!!!
Rest assured I will update on how they sound...:cool:

And I had purchased A/V Max and read the review for the norge just last week!! They said it's good VFM but build/design is poor..
The 150/180 Watt doesn't really make any diff..

In this forum for their last FS which had Vifa drivers the review's aren't good. The missions have always been favoured.

Audition fast and let us know how they compare to the m34i !!!

Kaustubh, Psb Alpha T1 is about 27k I think. Check it out.

Soulforged, I have the mh3 sys package but the centre is not so good. But its decent for the price. As for the m32i, I think its around 10k.

To All Mission 34i buyers,

I picked this for my BIL actually. He is a budding audiophile, so I got them shipped to my house to check them and found them good. I too listen to all kinds of music. I played then using my Musical Fidelity Class A and believe me for this price it is hard to beat them. I found them good in vocals, highs a bit harsh (but they were out of box) and sufficient bass for a 12*25room. These are rear ported so play around with placement closer to walls to gain bass or reduce boominess. I placed them diagonal across for test with no walls to enhance bass, but bass was good. I did an AB with my Klipsch Reference FLRS too. Ofcourse Klispch bass is tight, monstrous and fast and highs diffrent due to horn loading. I think I will pick up a 34i for my second system any day as they are more involving than Wharfs.. use right amplification. My BIL is using a Marantz PM5003 and it is good and pairing well.
Someone was apprehensive of finishing not being good as being a Chinese made, I feel most Hifi gets assembled or made in China and this is a 20k FLRS, so you get more than you ask for. I found it to be good. Typical British.
