Radio on RX-V467

Hi, I tried tuning FM Radio on my new Yamaha RX-V467 but nothing tuned. Then I got a bright Idea to connect my old Big TV DTH cable to the receivers FM Connection on the rear thinking that atleast this wud help the Radio work but nothing. No FM Radio station was heard, Need ur advice on getting the Radio on my Yam 467 working.

I tried the waire that came in the kit, I stay in Thane.

I asked where u stay as when I was in Sanpada ,1 st floor I was not getting Fm on some of my tuners
Have you tried aluminium hanger as antenna?( Explained somewhere on forum)

There must be a switch you did not flick. One would be for Radio/AVR and one more for FM/SW/AM.

Is this a local purchase or a US import?
If it is a US import you may have to do manual tuning since the stepping is different for US and Europe (India).

If it is not something simple you overlooked like a switch, then you may need to hook up an external antenna...

Does your cell phone catch FM radio on that spot?

Radio signal is weak in the room, as my cell phone also doesn't catch the FM signals, But I dont understand as when I connected the Big TV cable to the antenna input still there was no signal!

1) Since the signals are weak in your room, see if you can hang the antenna that came with your AVR outside your window. To extend the cable, take the cable with you to a electronics shop and ask him to give you similar cable.

2) With ref to Big TV, if you are talking about the songs channel, did you choose the channels? You will not get FM unless Big TV is retransmitting it.

In Mumbai, there are two problems w.r.t. FM Dead Zones and multipath interference. Dead zones are caused by Highrisses between your society and antenna farm.

Where do you stay?

Your only option is a powered FM antenna that has a booster. Its very tough to add and antenna and router it to top of building.

Why doesn't the DTH cable support the FM signal when the DTH dish is on the terrace of my building, I am not using the Big TV now so tried using its cable but no signal using that too.

Or ... you can try hanging the AVR outside the window holding on the Antennae wire from inside.
