Can anyone confirm that Reliance Broadband, is offering a plan of 4 Mbps known as Thunder 1099 with unlimited download and No FUP.

If anyone is using, I would request them to kindly confirm on the same. Kindly even state the quality of the speed as well as service issues.

I've been using the 2MBPS Thunder plan with no FUP for the last 2+ months. It is indeed the real thing. I've been getting the advertised speeds 90% of the time, and there have been no download limits. Zero downtime so far.

They did take their sweet time in installing the connection, though. It took them 5 days (after they had collected the application form and Rs.599.00 installation charges) to do the installation.

GREAT INFO...
can any user confirm normal torrent speed level...in this reliance plan..
like in my present bsnl brdband it is like 60kb/sec max.....sometimes 10kb...hehe

Thanks for the information provided. Its much appreciated.

I am currently, using airtel 8 Mbps 80 GB FUP, threafter, 512kbps. My limit gets over in just a couple of days and I'm stuck with 512kbps for the rest of the month.
So, after seeing this plan from reliance, I contacted airtel and requested for cancellation of my broadband and they offered me another plan with 8 Mbps 300GB FUP for Rs. 3000 per month.
When I told them that Reliance is offering unlimited with no FUP at 1099, they answered, its not possible and started to read out TRAI (Telecom Authority) rules.

I think I will take the reliance connection and use it for a month, and if satisfied will cancel my airtel connection. I will have to pay extra for airtel but will be on the safer side if reliance does not work as promised.

Further, I have read on other forums, that whenever reliance releases some blockbusters, they block most of the torrent/filesharing sites for 3-4 weeks. So one will have a downtime for a month or so.

I have disconnected my Airtel Broadband 2 days back. (Airtel guys took 10 days to close the connection after lot of hard work from my end.)
Airtel had increased the monthly rental by Rs. 250, I was using their 4 MBPS 150GB at Rs. 1899 (that too was discounted by Rs. 200 after my threats of quitting their services 6 months back, original rental was Rs. 2099).
And this luxury is all because we 3 guys were sharing the bill...but finally we decided to experience few rainy days without internet.)

Now I am looking forward to take this Reliance connection which I had heard on this forum. I have placed my mobile number on their website for taking new connection, but nobody has called yet. It seems Reliance is not providing their wired broadband connection in Noida :(

From what I have encompassed, The Plan will have a contention ratio of either 1:10 or 5:10, i.e there speeds can vary where as Airtel(using for 8.5 years) has a contention ratio of 1:1 from the beginning. So, choose it wisely :)
Checked it on there website, and the broaband connection for home users has a contention ratio of 1:10 or 1:8 or 1:4 which will not give you the speed you demand.

Agree with Prosenjit,

Mere BSNL mahan hai. (Khoob hi bhalo)!

Thoda slow hai, thoda moodi hai, thoda bekar hai phir bhi mera hai!

I have had some horrible experiences with Reliance so I would watch them with a hubble telescope if I could. The honeymoon period with them is usually very short.

Not to make anyone pensive at all.

Keep a close look is all that I can say.

I had BSNL, then moved to Airtel, then to Reliance and then again to BSNL.
Out of the 3 ISP's, Airtel provides the best customer service, their connection hardly drops, but they are the slowest.
BSNL has poor customer service, however there would hardly be any connection drop, and their speed is decent.
Reliance has the best speed, but the worst customer service, and their connection will drop to every rain and lightning that happens in your area. SO CHOOSE WISELY.

Wow. No FUP = Heaven

I recently switched to Spectranet. 16mbps with 64GB FUP. Although i get 10-12mbps speed which I'd still good enough. I pay around 1500 per month. Very much satisfied with their service. First month I paid, second month I got free. Note third month is going on. Till now no issues reported. Earlier i had Airtel but it was costly and some times speed issues were there.

Very Honestly speaking, I have had an airtel connection for 8.5 years and never had a speed issue. True to their contention ratio of 1:1, their speed is as promised, had a lot of downtime but that was due to my Belkin Router. :p

I have been using the Reliance 4 Mbps for last 4 months and its great with no FUP.Go ahead, these plans are much better then BSNL........

Hi, I am using the same plan for last 3 months too and its great, no limit. It provides the speed most of the times as mentioned, have tested the same.

Thx

If your Torrents have a lot of seeders then you will get full 4 Mbps speed .....try adding 5 to 6 torrents with lots of seeders and you will get great speed with Reliance..... regarding banning of torrent sites use any Proxy and it will work....:ohyeah:
