Hi,

Need to decide(in couple of days) a DAC to be carried by a friend from US.
shortlisted
Schiit modi multibit ($250)or
musical fidelity v90 ($300)or
CA dac magic 100 ($300)

Which one will be better considering SQ and durability?

Go for MIMBY

My opinion- If you can not afford Bimby ($599), then go for musical fidelity v90.

May i know why you do you prefer V90 over Mimby ?

Have not heard any Schiit solutions so can not compare but I own a Musical Fidelity V DAC II, this is the previous gen which ultimately would be the V90, it is a simple device coupled with its own LPSU and it sounds really nice. Fluid and perfectly rhythmic, not as transparent as my Emotiva but beautiful melodious sound. Don't think you will go much wrong if you choose Musical Fidelity.

Why not Emotiva dac xda-1? This is definitely best value for your money.

XDA-1 is discontinued and was not particularly good, XDA-2 is better but having owned the DC-1 I think the Musical Fidelity will be better than the XDA-2.
