My second installation of this connector was completed a few days ago on my SME III, which had its original side-facing RCA connectors with dedicated earth wire. A few years back, I'd made the same change on the 3009 S2 (which had the early 4-pin connector) on my second TT. Despite being a klutz at soldering, managed successfully to detach the 5 wires at the tonearm base, and re-solder them to the new RCA jacks. In both cases, there's been a total elimination of hum (which was difficult to suppress earlier, and was clouding the music signal), despite there being no need for a separate earth wire any more. Clear glorious music now, without the haze of the minor noise floor. Highly recommended to SME owners, especially those having the early (primitive) 4 pin connectors.
