Sony HT-DDW5500 or HT-M5 ?

Ok sorry for a stupid question, but I want to be clear. :o

Well, HT-M5 says 1580W total output and you said, Pioneer one is total 700W .

So, does that mean, HT-M5 sounds more and better ?

More watt is more sound or whats it all about ?

The Pioneer is a 700 W system and it should be loud enough for home use.

I was myself confused between DDW-5500 and HT-M5.
Finally i went for HT-M5, got a steal of a deal.

Reasons are below-(non technical)
-Less number of speakers, better space utilization, less bulky
-Similar output , slightly more
-Better aesthetics
-Latest product by Sony
-Better features at similar price

Suggest u go for HT-M5 between the two.

A higher power rating does not translate into better sound, its just gives you an idea of how loud the system can play. Power rating is just like the Megapixel specifications in digital cameras, a higher megapixel does not mean better picture quality. A lower megapixel camera can produce better picture than a higher megapixel camera if it has better sensor and lens.So a 700W system may not play as loud as a 1580W system but a 700W system can sound better than a 1580W system.

Super reply!

But how would someone like me differentiate between both the sounds ?

Im a professional photographer, so I can make the difference between pictures, but audio output it above my head :(

I had been to Sony Center yesterday and was completely dissatisfied with the output. IT was loud, but the bass and treble were not in good chain.

Very bad output.

Looks like, I will have to stretch the budget and get something real good.
