Personally I dont really like Denon... Its not bad per se, especially when compared to sony or bose, but when compared to other similar or lower priced rivals like HK,Yamaha, Marantz etc... As I said, during the cinebels meet we were in for a rude shock when we compared Denon against Marantz & Yamaha... Anyway coming back to ur present problem... I think everyone on this forum will recommend to u not to buy a system blind... You
have to audition the system u are gonna buy... You are not buying a Rs 200 use & throw pen drive but rather a 1 lac home theatre system... 2nd thing would be to buy in steps if u can... This ensures that u are able to modify the system to ur liking... Sure over time u end up paying more than u initially planned but u will get a system that u will love & appreciate for years to come... But u have to try & demo this systems in Mumbai or somewhere before u buy...
I will try & list some of ur options below:-
1) u buy a Marantz SR6006 from Hifimart for 59k... Then u invest 45-50k in either a Polk RTi A7 Floorstander or a Pair of Polk RTi A3 Bookshelves + Polk RTi A6 Centre Channel... The advantage of buying a A3 & a A6 1st is that u get ur full set of Front speakers immediately & then later u can upgrade to a Sub & then maybe Floor standers, with the A3 moving tothe back as surrounds... Weather u like the matching of the Marantz with the polks u can determine by getting in touch with a FM named Soamz from bilaspur who has recently bought a Polk 5.1 with a denon 2113...
2) 2nd option is that u just request Soamz for a demo of his Denon 2113 with his polk set... If u really like this set than start building on this path... The motto of this suggestion is a bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush

...
3)3rd option is that u Buy the SR6006 & buy the Energy RC micro 5.0 available @ less than 11k
here ... Now I know what u are thinking... These speakers are certainly not upto the mark of the SR6006... & You would be right... But these speakers perform fantastically for their price range & if gives u an option of later on adding a Good Sub & maybe 2 floor standers in the front while shifting the micros to surronds to make a 7.1 system... What it does is that right now u have a very powerful base(SR6006), a 5.0 surround set effect, The option of upgrading further to a 7.1 set plus it is well below ur budget(about 70k) which means u can save the 20-30k & add to it to invest in a good sub & Floor standers later... Plus these speakers match pretty well with Marantz...
4) Another option would be to buy the SR6006 plus a Polk TSi 5.0 set or the Sonodyne 5.0 set or the pioneer 51FS 5.1 set, all of which should be below the 50k mark... This will give u a complete 5.0 or 5.1 system from the get go & still be approx in ur budget... Also Hifimart has a few Denon AVR + 5.1 speaker systems a little over 1 lac which u could also look at...
Personally I like option 1 & option 4 the best...
I know it is a lot of process and I would recommend you dont rush ur purchases & audition whtever u want to buy before buying it... If u take my example, I have been planning & building my HT setup for more than a year now & till now the only things I have bought have been a Projector & a HK AVR3600 which I am using with my old Sony speakers... I am still to buy speakers myself & am still trying to judge weather I should go for polks or make my own via DIY... But going slow & also helped me take some imp steps, like dumping the idea of a lower end 3D projector & rather buying a higher end 2D projector instead, etc etc...
Anyway I have 3-4 long days ahead due to the marriage of my Best friend... So I might not be able to reply during the next few days...
Rajadeep very good conclusion.. good writing
