Subwoofer suggestion for HT

You don’t have to have it facing forward directly or for that matter, in that particular spot (the platform). You can place the subwoofer anywhere in your room and those other spots will sound equally as good if not better. You can do the subwoofer crawl test to figure out where the other spots of your room are quite easily (not literally crawl, you can simply use an spl meter on your phone). I have placed mine diagonally behind my listening spot. Also, placing a subwoofer facing straight ahead is usually not a good idea even if its kept in front and the yamaha manual itself states that it should be placed diagonally so that the bass has a longer path to travel before it hits the corners of the room.View attachment 47930

I thought u got the Rel t9i. Is that the sw300?

Yup. That’s where i have positioned my sw300. The REL T9i is more omnidirectional (if thats a thing for subwoofers as bass is supposed to be omnidirectional per se) so i’ve placed it at front next to my speakers. It manages to cover the entire room more effectively than the SW300 which requires a fair bit more experimentation with placement. I guess its the downfiring driver?

Members , I need help in choosing a subwoofer.
Currently my setup includes the Denon x2600h, and 5.0 (Mission LX2, mission LXC)
I am looking for a subwoofer between 25k- 30k. My living room is 14 x14 .
I wanted to go for the Yamaha sw100 since it’s under 20k but I don’t see it being recommended in this forum .Also preference is for a compact subwoofer.

How is the performance of Mission lx2 ?

Is it good? How is the quality ? Good for both movies and music?

Also how is the center LXC, are the vocals clear as it has 4" driver only. Please help
