subwoofer vs avr automatic calibration?

hey bros.
today most of the newer subs have automatic calibration mic do we use it or just run the subwoofer with avr automatic calibration
please suggest

and also if on the back side of subwoofer has intenal crossover and subwoofer direct button which
one to choose

Hi Manu,
I have not used a Sub having its own caliberation system. However I have an "obvious" advice... whichever method satisfies your taste should be the one to follow.

With either method, feel free to tweak settings after auto-caliberation is done to get what you want. (I did the same with my Onkyo 5105 HT package... I reduced the bass, as auto-caliberation bass was heavier than I am used to)
