Suggest AVR + speakers for 5.1 setup for 50 to 60k

Requirement : This is my first 5.1 HT setup mainly for movies from HDD, airtel HD, PS3 games.

1. Decent midrange AVR + FS/bookshelves to start with?

2. onkyo HT3400 was one option or denon 1912 (from amazon.de) + ETC 5.1 (preowned from one of the forum member)?

I adding my query here instead of a new thread since my confusion is similar.

I am about to close on a 40 inch TV. (the ongoing toss up between LCD / LED is killing me, but that's another story. Will figure it out somehow)

My requirements for AVR / 5.1 Speaker setup is as follows:
1. Mostly movies
2. Should support all formats including MKV
3. Should support subtitles.
4. Some preference for wooden speakers. Not critical if there is a better sounding alternative
5. Budget around 60-75K

Am also requesting suggestions / knowledge on:
1. Suggested accompanying media players
2. Recommendations suggesting / debating wooden speakers.
