Pickup an Archos or Iaudio or iRiver jukebox with and get a senheiser in CX or PX series as best ur budget can get.. u have a great combination....
And for more load rockbox Rockbox - Open Source Jukebox Firmware in it.... you can easily use FLAC or Gapless play etc...

I have a iRiver H10 and Sen. Px 100.. such a great combi for 4 years....

What I have is the Cowon iAudio D2 with sennheisser cx 300. The Cowon is just awesome. Senn cx 300 is good for listening while commuting, its a snug fit and decent sq, little bass heavy though, but still great vfm and good build quality.
As for the Cowon D2,
1. Excellent sound quality(powerful, loud, clear and punchy)
2. Wide range of format support inc flac
3. Excellent battery life
4. Tons of features
