Suggest me a Hifi

Hey guys I'm kinda new to this forum. I'm lookin for a good hifi system that can enhance my listenin life.. I listen to Heavy Metal, Hard Rock,Death metal, Psychadellic rock and alternative. So what would be the best deal for me say if I am workin on a budget of 30k

Getting a system at 30k is a bit difficult. If you are open to used route then you can try speakers from Klipsch , Cerwin Vega , JBL. These spk are good for Rock including heavy metal. For amplifier you may consider Yamaha, Parasound etc.

Well I was suggested to go for a marantz and a pair of aviano 2s. You think they'll be a bad choice??

Go for Klipsch , cerwin , Paradigm or Energy RC speakers for heavy metal.

Thanks a lot guys for the suggestions. I have finalized my buy and its gona be a Denon PMA 510 AE and a pair of Mordaunt Short Aviano 2s. i did audition them and trust me, I could feel Marty Friedman right in the room.. Even Dimebag was alive Will post pics of em as soon as I get em.

Finally got em and bought a Marantz cd 6002 too.. I am no Hi fi pundit but trust me guys, the combo is awesomee.. Just love the sounds.. Now waitin for my stands to arrive.. I started on a 35k budget, ended up spendin 72k including the cables stands etc.. But never felt happier

many congratulations on the purchase...do you mind disclosing the denon 510 AE price, as I have a denon dcd 500 and looking to get either a 510 AE or 710 AE...

Congrats on your purchase. I suggest you mount the speakers on some stands and place them one feet away from the back and side walls. It will give you a wider soundstage, also allow some 50 hours of burn-in time, and see what wonders the speakers are capable of.

What interconnects do you use?

@akki - I got the denon 510 ae at 17k. I was closing in on the Marantz but the amp is too musical for me. As i listen to loads and loads of heavy metal, the denon gave life to the solos, the riffs etc. Yea the whole set up sounds awesome and I am happy.. thanks a lot pal

@Murali- Thanks a lot. I have ordered by speaker stands already but they haven't reached me yet. Its a 32" tall stand from tono systems Mumbai. Hoping to get it by Friday. I couldn't resist listening to the set up, thats why i mounted them on the table and started off.. I am using DAC interconnects with gold plated plugs. the speaker cables haven't been delivered yet. The length for the same hasn't been finalised as the stands haven't come. So he has just given me a temporary pair as of now.

also guys I am planning to use my lap top as a source too, as I have tons of mp3 collections. So how do I start off there? coz I have a head phone out and USB outs nothing else. I have bought an interconnect that connects my headphone out to the amp. But its not satisfying enough, So any suggestions to take it further??

You need a decent USB DAC.

I am not sure you can get best SQ from headphone out specially for MP3..
Although someone would suggest an External Soundcard through USB.

Thanks for the tips guys. But any DAC available in India?? any you can suggest? online buying etc.. But the budget is around 7500 as I have shed all I had on the amp, cdplayer and speakers..

@ reuben I know, but i am happy with the avianos, the reason i went for em is that I gota judge some recordings of my band too.. I'll be goin in for a second pair of speakers, Klipsch floor standers in another 6 months.. I have closed in on the F20. Hope to Nail it soon
