I am setting up first stereo setup and for that i have zeroed on a year old Mission LX-2s speakers(sensitivity 86.5db) For the amp i need some help,i have two choices in front of me the first is 15 year old Cambridge Audio c500-p500(pre and power amp combo 65WX2) The power amp has a hefty toroidal transformer, is a completely discrete design and uses Sanken BJT output stage transistors.
The other option in front of me is to get a new class d amplifier like the smsl ad18/sa90/fx audio d802c.(80W
Which is the better option for me??
I plan on mostly using it for streaming from my phone and using it with a Chromecast Audio.Do i also need to get a dac for the Chromecast audio or is it good enough?
