Hi Guys,

This is my first thread so pardon me if I miss any detail. I have done a lot of reading recently on/off this forum. Any comparison or any other option.

Price I am getting is,

Yamaha SW215 13K (when I auditioned it; it was vibrating like anything; at 80% volume; perhaps some setting but showroom guys could not figure)
Astonia 16K (mentioned as the best to buy in 15K; the price is recently hiked though)
PSW 125 18K
KEF C4 21K

I have recently bought v373 with yamaha NS-P60 center/surround and am looking for a SUB for this setup. I am not looking for something to shatter the walls; but instead something which can give tight, punchy bass without going much boomy.

So which one is more bang for buck.

Thanks for reading.

Even I have Yamaha 373 and I am in search of a sub. I had started a similar thread here and got few suggestions.

By the way, from where did you get the price of PSW125 as 18K. As per profx website, even PSW 110 is 17K (before discount)

I was hunting it online and found that price online, at IvoryEdge.

So does your Yamaha 375 not good? And impressions.

BTW KEF C4 is on deal as well, (around 21Kish ).

I am very happy with 373. Currently using my sony bookshelf (existing one) and recently added sonodyne centre. They sound very good, especially after adding the centre. Next target is sub and fronts (either bs or fs) and to change my current fronts to rear.

As per Profx - Advanced Audio Solutions PSW 125 is 24K.

^^ argh, My Bad. I confused your AVR with the Yamaha SUB 315. Yamaha 215 is on my watchlist so though to get first hand impression.

I have Astonia Def10. I am more than happy with that. Though I have to change the cable that came along with that. The connection is RCA 1 male (AVR side) and RCA 2 male on the sub side). I had to go for an adapter to use my Mediabridge dual shielded sub cable RCA to RCA.
The sub delivers clean tight punchy bass. I am really enjoying the movies.

Hey Thanks guys,

What should be the correct price for the Sub right now?

Where did you get the adapter from? so is it like following? (1 rca male to 2 rca female)

Free Shipping 1 RCA Male to 2 RCA Female Splitter - 3Pcs | eBay

So can I connect the Sub out from my AVR with this cable to the Astonia sub for LFE effects ? Is this cable available online ?

i think so,They sound very good, especially after adding the centre.thanks

You can skip this step and connect the single RCA directly to the L line-in on your sub

I bought it for 13.9 when they had introduced it. At that time they were quoting it at a 15% discounted price (they had informed me about the discounted price).

Not sure I got it; the Sub has Low input but it takes two RCA male as said. So are you saying to simply put the single RCA out from AVR to one of the Low level input?

Yes. Just a single RCA out to one of the Low level inputs on the sub would work. BTW if you've not yet finalized, strike DF-10 out of your list for sometime. Myself and a few others are facing an issue of leaking glasswool from the port. One of the HFV member had to even return the sub because of this.

Argh Man, Just got it delivered a few hours back. Lets see how it goes. BTW I am not able to get punchy bass in songs; movies are fine; any thing specific I should be adjusting for?

It's average for music but good for movies. I guess, just keep an eye out for the glass wool escaping the port after a few weeks. Your piece may be better constructed than mine, so it's not as if it's a write off. Someone else also informed me that if the sound quality is good, the bit of glasswool leaking would eventually stop once the sound pressure finds a way out of the port.

Enjoy your sub.
