Hi,

I had chosen the following speakers to buy for 5.1 setup with Yamaha V667.

- Wharfedale 9.2 or 9.5 (front)
- Q Acoustics 2020 (rear as I already bought)
- Wharfedale 9.CS (center)

For the Sub, I am just in between Wharfedale SW-150 and Velodyne Impact 12.

Please tell whether the combination of Wharfedale with Velodyne will work out very good or it is better to go with SW-150.

Another question, for the sub do I have to look for any special speaker wire or I can use any 12/14 AWG wires.

Thanks,
Sakitram

velodyne makes one of the best subs. BUT it is to expensive when compared to some other brands like HSU, SVS, Rythmik. So something like, if velodyne has a terrific sub at 50K, then you can get that same terrific kind of sub from one of these at 25-30K. So I wud advise you to ditch velodyne.
You should consider one of HSU subs or BIC. You can get this fron the US and ship them here through borderlinx. For around your budget, these subs are pretty good.
Bic Acoustech PL-200, HSU STF 2, HSU STF 1

BIC America F12 is on sale on amazon. It is as low as 180$! After shipping shd come to like 20K.
Amazon.com: BIC America F12 12-Inch 475-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer: Electronics

Also what is your room size? If your room is big, save and get a good sub later.

Velodyne entry level subs are infact cheaper than HSU,SVS landed here.
I think HT store has Velodyne impact 10 for 23k around.

@ShaQ.Blogs- good find. The further details are not available though.

Will it be best pair with my existing Yamaha receiver and Q Acoustics 2020..?
I think this F12 seems to be very good to me.
F12 is decent at that price. But the STF1 or 2 is something that is way better than it. Dont worry about pairing sub with fronts. You need to be match fronts with center. Subs almost any good sub you can easily integrate with fronts. The setting of crossover is what is important so that it blends in such that the sub is not localized.

What is your room size? You still havent mentioned that

Do they come with dual voltage option? I personally prefer to keep the power zone in sync with Indian voltage. :)

There is no stereo pre in.
I wasnt aware that they didnt have pre-ins. Why preOuts are superior to the speaker inputs, whats the reasoning to this?

Compromise somewhere one has to...when the budget is so low. No choice here. Either better & tighter bass or... :(
Either way, for his room size this is a bad choice. HSU VTF2, Rythmik FV12 is what he would need. But this is like 2 times the budget. IMHO He needs to up his budget by at least 10K to around 35-40K or move to a smaller room :D. Then he could explore the STF's
