Hi everyone,

I've bought a Panasonic PT AE-4000 projector and am looking for a Home Theater system.

My max budget is Rs. 40,000 (can go up a few thousand if product is awesome) - so could you please suggest some options for me?

I want the 5.1 system along with a decent AV receiver. A few options I found on the internet:

Onkyo HTS 3400
JBL Cincestyle 9 India JBL

I'm liking the JBL a lot. Is it a good buy? What other options do I have? I'm based in Kolkata.

Cheers,

I am not sure about the subwoofer coming along with the cenestyle 9. But make sure it's not the JBL brand. When I auditioned I found all the cenestyle series except the one with JBL sub combo very nice. I guess both Onkyo and HK have their own merits. Onkyo will have more features. But still you may not need all those features. It's up to you for deciding on the sound signature which you like over the other. Anyways, I don't see True HD in their specification in the website for HK. Make sure you are going with a one having True HD sound.

Try to build your HT slowly , Maybe get a receiver and 2 tower initially and then buy Center and Surround with a Sub Woofer later on. The budget will shoot up but that will be over time asnd you will end up building a quality HT setup which would last for good 5 years.

If that is not a possibility then consider Onkyo HT 728 (Tower 5.1) Along with a receiver of your choice .... Or other options Like Polk RM 6750 Alongside a Denon 1311. ;-)
