I am pleased to share with members the pictures, most of these theatres, in all respect have been made by Faisal Hamid, Sound Of Music, New Delhi. Welcome to Sound of Music.

I had bought from Faizal, the Dalite Screen, he has given me the opportunity to show the members of Hifivision the great home theatre's.

I hope we will get to see many more home theatre pictures from other members at hifivision.

Vinay.

Sunil, did you like these indian home theatre's, please see if you can tell me your comments in detail?

I think many of the links shows different angles & AV equipments in the same Cinema room. Can't say it's a mini-theater, but much more than that! Ok, the pics shows 3 different rooms

I don't like the first room just becuse it is cluttered, poorly laid out. Speakers are great, but it blocks the view from front view seats.

Second one is very neatly arranged, love the reclainers

I abolutely love the third room. The screen, lighting & AV rack are very impressive. AV Rack on rails gives more conveinece for maintenance and can be pushed in and closed for neater look, i love that!

I too find it very cluttered and a bit tacky looking (specially the ceiling). Also, the placement of speakers, etc. does not seem like a professional setup. I also cant imagine why this person has spent so much and yet has dynamic speakers (Meridien) in front and Horn Speakers (Avantgarde) in the rear - 2 very different sounds. I really doubt that it sounds good. Probably just loud!
I have seen some much better HT systems in India.

Please do not mix the pictures - actually it is Vinay's mistake that he posted all the pcitures together and they have all got mixed up.

The pictures are for 3 home theaters and one of them is a stereo set-up.
One of them is a full Meridian Reference Theater system with Vidikron Model 110 with cinewide and autoscope.

There is another one with 5 Avantgarde Solo's with a Meridian Model 85 - THX certified projector abd Meridian G92 processor.

Another one is with a Vidikron Model 150 with cinewide and autoscope with JBL Synthesis sound.

By the way , all of the above home theaters look great in reallife - probably the pictures dont do much justice as I have not used a professional photographer.

It is good that faisal you have replied to malai kulfi, indeed there will always be better home theatres and systems, i hope mkulfi allows us with the opportunity to show us those pictures which are better than these as it would be a very good experience for the members out here.

At this site, it is only sunil, who leads the best home theatre, and if you also have a set up mkulfi, please consider to show us the pictures.

Faisal, if you wish you can load the pictures the way you want from your log in for a better presentation.

I will repeat that the theatre pictures which you have provided, that is the best pictures i have seen, i have come across people who say that they have seen better home theatre's, but un-fortunately i am not getting to see the pictures. I have seen so far several home theatre pictures, but they are no way near to your home theatre pictures.

There is no doubt if there was a professional shooter for the photographs the appearance of the home theatres would have been better, but in spite of that many members can surely sense the beauty of your theatre's.

With all that cash, space, Meridian grade equipment, professional installer expertise these people could have done a much better job.

Personally i din't really like the color shades used for the interior i found it to be too flashy but that's a personal choice thing.

There are many HT's in the U.S which are done by users themselves and they are better than most of these. Elegant and not cluttered with proper acoustics.

If this is the best a pro installer in India can do this market needs to mature a lot.

I have not posted these pictures here to prove anything to you or any other forum member. I dont need to. All of these installs are in the region of $ 200,000 and above and I know what I am doing.

I have had a chance to look at your home theater and indeed it has been been done very professionally ---with the bean bags ,the carpet stuck to the wall with fevicol on the wall and the equipemnt lying all over the room.
Good work!

Sorry matey if my post is anyway offended you, my sincere apologies.

Public forums are always like that, members comes with different tastes, ideas and interests. You take what is good for you from here and ignore the rest.

But IMHO forums are rich with resources & talented members and always nice to listen. Often you get good friends too :D

Thankyou
Suniil

I think it makes more sense to appreicate something - it is very very easy to criticize - you need to consider the resources , materials and labour we have to work with and also the fact that these theaters probably cost 1/6th of what a similar install would cost in the US ( leaving the equipment aside ).
Also, a very importan factor is the end user- the client we have to go by his choice of colors , fabrics etc --- after all he is paying for the stuff.

Still, if anyone in even interested in listening to a full Meridian hometheater , Avantgarde speakers , the Vienna Acoustics , the Nagra products or the vidikron projectiors, I will be more than happy tooffer a demo in our personal Demo Theater and if the person is really serious ,I might fly him down to Delhi.

Best regards and bye for now.

Faisal Hamid

Dear Satish,

It is true that the interiors are of a personal choice, we are not here to go by the colours which others like.

As you find the work of sound of music not good, please guide us with the reasons as to why his work is not good, other than the clutter factor, which is quite a petty factor, please tell us the major faults.

I would say that you are lucky that you have so much of exposure, so did you also make the theatre without professional help?

Please guide us how did you do the acoustic work.

I always wanted to ask you one thing, the carpet which you are having, there are big patches, i think in no way it looks elegant and than there is clutter in your home theatre too, please guide me if i am wrong.

Vinay.

I did not say there were any major faults i specified with all those factors(enough cash, expensive equipment, pro expertise) the owner could have done a much better job. To give you an idea of what i had in mind, something along the lines of these maybe
Video

Well i had my house designed with the HT room initially planned out and that's when my installer got the wiring and acoustics done ideally.

Please note i'm not comparing these HT's to mine, i did not spend anywhere near the amount this person must have spend and did most of the work myself.

I initially had wooden flooring in my HT room which was ruined when water soaked into my basement. After i got that fixed i just used up an old carpet i had lying around in the office and since the spots. The carpet will be replaced eventually.
My HT is nowhere near done it has a long way to go. I plan at least 4 recliners with levels. But im taking baby steps so it still has time to reach its potential.

Dear Satish,

With faisal's work it is nice to learn from you that there are no major faults, or should we say that there are minimum faults, which will occuer by the best maker, the photo which you are showing is surely good, but the theatre pictures which are over here are also quite good. The clutter part is not a issue, that can be resolved within no time.

As requested earlier I hope you can tell us how the acoustic treatment was done. I want to know most importantly the place where walls have the fabric, what are those round holes visibile of around 5 inches.

It is good to show foreign home theatre pictures, so we know how things can get better, but sound of music has shown us the good pictures of home theatre??s which are made by him, i have yet to see better pictures of home theatre??s that are made in our country, keeping in mind that i have seen more than 15 home theatre pictures which are made ihere, they are no way near, to the pictures of faisal's theatre pictures.

I feel Faisal deserves good appreciation, there are dealers, etc, who on their website have posted theatre pictures which are directly flicked from some abroad theatre. Furthermore only last week or so times of India had an article on how to make a home theatre, there too the theatre picture was of some foreign theatre, so to sum it up that way sound of music has atleast shown us some good pictures of the home theatre??s which are made in India.

It is not about comparison, it is just that he pointed out the errors with your home theatre. It is very good that you did the work yourself.

Indeed the amount which you have spent is nowhere compared to what faisal has spent, that his because he has got any day much better audio video equipments, the best of recliners, great interiors, etc.

I appreciate the details you told me about the carpet problem, I think a home theatre is better in a basement, that way it is good for you. By the way which precautions you have taken so that the water does not get in again in your basement theatre room. I had visited one filmi music guy, he had the same problem, water got in, he had to construct a new dubbing related room, in other part of his house, because he had the fears that in the particular area, water could get in again, with the kind of crazy rains in paricular years.

It is a very good idea that you are making your home theatre in peace meals, it has it??s own advantages and disadvantages, all the best.

Faisal, had you not been good with your work, these industrialists, would have not given you these prestigious contracts.

We have to look forward from our members if they can point some major errors with your work, which they have not been able to do so far, it is just that a petty thing like clutter, was bought up by one member, and than other members followed the train, by saying that their is clutter.

Vinay.

I do not presently have a setup since I am in the process of moving country's, although I have some stereo equipment (posted on another thread). But I have seen some very good setups abroad as well as in India. I have not taken any pictures of them, but will take some for you next time :). I believe that for a pro setup, it could have been better. I have seen better.

Faisal: Your clarification explains the non-similar speakers. What I said about the clutter was not to offed you, it was a genuine personal thought.

"I have not posted these pictures here to prove anything to you or any other forum member. I dont need to. All of these installs are in the region of $ 200,000 and above and I know what I am doing."

When something is posted on a forum, it is open to praise and criticism and you should not take it personally. I'm sure your reason for posting them was to promote the products you sell and display your capabilites; not to prove anything.
