usb port of denon 1911

Hii Calling all denon 1911 users,

I have just ordered 1911 but one thing remained to be understood.

Can i use the USB port for sticking my memeory sticks for playing any music/video? or is it for i pod/i phone only?

If yes, upto what memory can it play without glitch?

Also can it play mp4, mkv ,flac etc?

You don't have the habit of reading manuals?

The 1911 can play only audio with the following restrictions:

1. The USB device has to be FAT32 or FAT16 format.

2. The device has to be compatible with MP3 ID3 Tag (Ver 2), or with WMA META Tags, or with MPEG-4 AAC.

3. Copyrighted/protected files will not be played.

For playing anything else, you have to use an external player.

i beleive i would be getting the manual once the receiver is delivered to me.

If have not caused botheration can i ask whether movies with extension mp4, mkv could be played on it or not.

I don't have a 1911, and how do you think I have the manual? If you go to the Denon site, you can download manual of all their products. The Denon 1911 manual is available here.

In terms of playing, please understand AVRs do not have the capacity of play video. All they can play is music in MP3 or WMA format.
