USB vs SATA performance of HDD

I don't see any part of that cable going into the power section of the hard disk? I guess this might be the one needed and an eSATATp port on the PC.

The Large L connector on the hard disk side is power. The Small L connector is DATA

I have built my own PC and the said USB HDD is inside it now. I am not sure if that's possible without knowing the above connection hyeah:

That picture was a response to haisaikat's link of an eSATAp cable which appears to have no power connector to hard disk(?).

Anyway thanks for the tip, keep adding to the resources.

I have similar kind of a cable connected from my pc to slim blu-ray drive. The large L connector is the power and the small is the sata.

If your laptop still has a esata then the workaround is For only $5.03 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 3ft eSATA + USB to eSATAp Cable - Black to still use sata speeds and provide power.
