Using 5.1 BDRip on Windows Media on 2.1 speakers

Hi Folks

Is there anyway I can set audio device/channel as stereo/2.1 in windows media player when playing 5.1 mkv/HD/BDRips? I am able to do this on VLC - but the thing is I cannot use my laptop remote with VLC; I can use it with Windows Media Player. So I want to play it using WMP only. I am using Windows Media version 11 for Vista.

You need proper audio codec installed..
