veneer availability

hi,
good morning to all.
i would like to re veneer my Yamaha NS1000M speakers.
the original one is black ash veneer and it is very very bad shape.
i would like to strip it completely and redo the veneer job.
any suggestions where can i buy the veneer sheets,preferably american walnut or cherry or mahogany.
preferable city is Hyderabad, but i can travel to Bangalore, Chennai etc.,

I had mentioned in a post about a year ago a vendor called Jacson in Bangalore who have an excellent range of veneers.

Veneer is generally of two types, one is like a sheet of paper or piece of cloth, dont know the technical name. the original veneer is manufactured in this way only.

the second one is the one sold by most veneer companies in india. the paper veneer is pressed on 3mm ply and then sold in the markets. typically carpentars use this type of veneer due to ease of use. As far as my knowledge goes, century ply sells the best of the veneers in our country and they have wide numbers of distrubuters/dealers in india. you can get it in your town. there is no need to travel for this.

Not sure if the paper veneer is available for retail sales in our country or not. further it might be slightly difficult to paste the same on the surface of a speaker for an ordinary carpentar as you might need specialised tools for good finish.

Veneer is the very thin variety, and is very definitely available in India.The 3/4/6/12 mm plywood with a thin venner stuck on it is called decorative plywood, it is not veener.

There are plenty of veneers available in India. You can check brands of century, euro, greenply etc
