I am new to this forum,
need your advise on the following

I have got the following offer

Wharfedale Diamond 9 series home cinema package

9.1 + 9.5 + sw150 + 9.cc
+
onkyo tx sr 608

total pacakge AED 4500 = INR 54 k

I have gone thru several sites and has found that

Wharfedale 9 series is not the latest, but is a solid speaker package
onkyo 608 is a good entry level avr

please need your comments and advise whether i should go for this package

Its a very good offer..Hell of a deal... (If its with the AVR also)...... and a very good Setup
Just replace the 9.cc with 9.CS .. I think u shd
and if possible replace the 9.1 s with 9.2 if u have a larger listening space (more than 200 sqft) otherwise 9.1 shd be good for back/surrounds...
Please share d details from where u got this price.. I guess its not in India....

And replace 9.5 with 9.6, sub 150 with 250..............

Seriously if you find deal on the above recomedation (including mine) , go for it.

BTW Wats yr listening area///space?? a lot wd depend on dat.. whether u need SW250 or SW150....
as kittu said ...U can go forr 9.6 ..but audition both 9.5 and 9.6 and decide...

its from Dubai based shop hifi

btw its 9cs and not 9cc

guys, pls also guide me on the spec what is quoted in terms of the speaker pacakge

the shop is referring the speaker package as wharfedale diamond 9.5 series

I'm n't upto date with the technologies and possibilities on these packages, i mean the spkers
are they good enough

The Wharfedale package you have mentioned is a solid and time tested package.The leader of the pack 9.5s enjoy a very good reputation both for HT duty and as well as stereo music too.If the package amount you mentioned includes the AVR too you can go for it blindfolded.

The offer is very good and can go for blind purchase. Here in India the speaker package mentioned will cost any where around 60K and the AVR not less than 30K

Very True... So Go for it...
For Surrounds u can even Chek 9.DFS... they are very much recommended for Surround Sound...

Thats VERY GOOD Offer.Many prefer 9 series to 10 & you may not need to upgrade in nearest time.

Not at all.Its not always true that upgraded models are better.Like my Tannoy F1 sounds better than new V1 series(online views).Only Bass improved with V1 due to deeper cabinates.

Adding to what spiro said, 9.2s are older but not phased out they have more demand over 10 series. But if you have large room and can negotiate a deal go for 9.6 version ... 9.5 is lil dull to my ears (lacks midrange)....
