What watch do you wear?

Titan Edge (black) for formal/ office wear

+1 to Edge. Its so light that I don't feel it on my wrist.

F-91W casio....wearing it 24x7 for the past one year. Got it for INR 333 on FK.

Supposedly from the very last batch as it was rumoured that Casio stopped manufacturing of this oldie. The watch was first released in the early eighties and its totally unchanged. They were selling exactly the same watch till last year..

An Interesting thread started by kendun.

I just noticed it.

I am curious to know why you have asked this question ... kendun ?

Over the year, I have nurtured an interest to read watches that people wear ( or do Not wear ! ).

I believ this provides and indication of how the person would like to be perceived by others who see him wearing ( or not wearing) their watch :)

Hi Indianears,
I asked the question as I found, in my limited experience of hifi, most hifi lovers seemed to care for quality plus sometimes go down the less travelled path and more often spend a LOT more on stuff which the average public wouldn't .... :)

For the record, nowadays I wear a Casio f-91w as it's cheap and I don't worry about rough use or wearing it in a shower or while washing my hands etc ... :)

Is there any model that shows "Moon Phases" (Full/New Moon) with day by day progression? I found only in Titan but didn't like the design. Any other brand?

Exactly the reasons why I took to F-91W...
1. Waterproof
2. light-weight
3. Awes0me battery life(10yrs)

And I had the thought at the back of my mind that its dirt cheap so I can subject it to rough use without worrying.

Now after one years use, I find that the watch is tougher than it appears. My respect for it has increased. I wear it all the time (bathing & sleeping). Must have dropped it tens of times and still it carries on.

Though users frequently complain on the net that the strap gives up before the watch does. so I make it a point to wear it loose and not very tight. Hoping it will give better life to the strap.

regards,
Jawed

Your posts tempted me too much to purchase one for myself! - for its emotional, classical and antiquity value. It's nice to have one of the largest selling watches in history. Awaiting delivery.

I haven't dropped the watch but throw it across to the table if I do remove it. As I said, it is when or if I remove it... :ohyeah:

There are cultural nuances associated with owning a watch. It is well known that Asian/Chinese invest in expensive watches - when I say expensive I am talking about 7000+ USD. Most regular Americans wouldnt care for spending sums like this on a watch. However, they see much better value in a 1000 USD Omega or a Tag.

In Hyd, most women from the elite class would like to be seen in a Omega constellation and its jewelled variations. Evidently this particular model has a high cachet in those circles.

A Rolex Perpetual Datejust represented the quintessential Swiss watch for decades in the Rayalseema reqion. It was synonymous with a Swiss watch, they werent aware of any other brands.

You will also notice that the bright golden RADO Aqua is the favorite with middle aged men in India. Yep, no other watch will do. Personally, I thought this as a very gaudy watch earlier. But in a more understated avatar, it is a very classy design and I would mind owning one myself.

I like Swiss watches too, just that I am happy withe Swatch Irony models so much, I have been collecting.
I had been wanting to buy a Rado watch for a long time because back in college, I saw one of my seniors wearing it and it looked so elegant and attractive. Since then, I always thought one day I’ll own one. I checked many websites but wasn’t satisfied with the quality I found. Finally, I visited an international website where I found this watch with great reviews and the best quality, so I decided to order it. After wearing it, I can honestly say it was worth the wait. If you’re planning to get a Rado watch, you can definitely buy it online.
