What's your Endgame speakers ?

Boston (Philips) 8" hiq with tl25sn peerless tweeters with a first order crossover and a subwoofer. Nothing's beaten it yet. Who knew the endgame was so cheap
Bostons are very open sounding IMO. Once u add a sub to it, it sounds as good as many other expensive speakers that have weight in bass.

I realised I would switch off the system after a few songs.
Big brand name brag value does not compete with musical enjoyment.
It was not engaging enough for me. So sold it and moved on.
With the current set up, I have a tough decision every morning on waking up whether to switch on the system before or after I go to brush my teeth
It makes me want to listen more, longer…I like this much better. I think there are many in this forum who feel like this with their systems, as also many who are still seeking…
That sounds like the one. When you forget everything and start enjoying listening 🎧more and experimenting with new media instead of hardware is a true sign of being there or a good system for you. 👍🏼

Ditto in my case. It took time (almost two years ) to optimise my setup to its current avatar. Now it’s bliss. In my case , room and cartridge played a major part.

Western Electric horns are vintage. They are from the 1940s and 50s. They play very differently. Many consider it to be among the finest speakers made. And yes they are expensive. You are talking 1 crore plus

Very well maintained and restored JBL M9500 and TAD 2401 will also set you back by at least 20 lakhs.

Linton, Mission, Heresy are like toys compared to the 4343

I don’t know if you hear Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, etc. Many of their albums have been mastered on the 4343
Ah nice 👍🏼 didn't know that.
Yes i do listen to them. I really like fleetwood's Dreams, The Chain, Rhiannon & Everywhere.
Also Tears for fears - Everybody wants to rule the world.

True. Here are mine prototype from DIY perspective, however my room ended before these could be fully realized / converted to end game…. (2 way active and measured wonderful from 17k down to 32hz of pure bliss at 100dB. The actual version had a 12” FR with an indisputable 17k top end. )

BTW end game speakers need end game amps and source too. I have cooked one amp which looks like end game. Two more are planned. Am happy to finally put maximum DIY content in my setup.

Now we're talking... yeaaahh maaan!!
Is it complete yet? Concentric mid/high?
It calls for a listening 🎧 sometime.
Great effort & research must hv gone in. Good job 👌👍🏼
Acoustic Portrait get their cabinetery made in Jaipur.
Plz share more details later and maybe share a short video playback.
Stereophiles are a crazy bunch of people 😂
Bechara TV in background

So it's the Klipsch Heresy IIIs that did the magic 🪄 quite good n expensive!
What is the bridged mono ACA amp? Where can one find it? It's a DIY kit I'm assuming. And what is your streamer/amp interconnects?

Hahaha Ahuja 12FRX on a cardboard. Klipsch taking rest. You can send them over to me 😉 would love to take care of them.

If you don't mind, could you share some pics and a short video showing off the best out of your speakers! Thnx Quite an endgame 😉
Yeah, even after 6 years my wife says I spent a fortune on Heresy though she instantly liked it. The retro looks and massive sound from a diminutive looking box. She is upset not about the speakers but the 4 or 6 sq.feet the packing boxes take in the store room :D Old Jamos were lean looking but tall and all black and deep too for her to always hate them.

Amp Camp Amp is DIY kit from Passlabs through diyaudiostore.com. ACA v 1.8 is a stereo 8Wpc into 8Ω has a switch to bridge the two channels to give 16W into 8Ω and it's mono. Built two of them to run as stereo.

Streamer is my PC through iFi Nano DSD DAC or if lazy direct headphone out to the preamp. BTW gear in my signature.

Interconnects is a mix - a couple of Monster 200, Radioshack RCAs from 2005 and a couple of Amazon Basics.

Speaker wires Van Den Hul Snowwhite terminated with Nakamichi banana plugs (not the old Nak I think) and GearIT 12AWG speaker wires bare wire.

Nothing exotic.

The pics is here ACA pair sitting on the top of he rack driving Heresy IIIs. I'd record the videos later and post for you.

ACAs Final.jpg

To part with Heresy --- naaa.... They are Special Edition in California Black Walnut real veneer and lambswool grill. Present Heresy IV are ported so not sure if they'd be like the IIIs I have.

True... The el cheapo Ahuja 12FRX I have on cardboard OB is driving Heresy nuts , good that speakers don't have legs else they'd have ran away 🤣 🤣 .

Extremely happy with what I have, though I feel the need to change something or the other every once in a while - which I believe is normal.

However - my end game "hopefully" is -
Genelec The Ones - 8351B SAM monitor + SAM woofer + Matrix Audio Mini I-pro3. And someone to set it all up with SAM module :)

I've heard a few speakers in my range of affordability, and beyond. But nothing has kindled the urge for a change. Iam over the moon with my present speakers ( diy by a forum member ). Being DIY, with no resale value, I plan on investing many years in improving them further. So iam enjoying music, and also quenching my tinkering urge at the same time. So no speaker upgrade plans for a long time to come :)

But I've always had a hankering to listen to some sonus faber speakers.

I used to have jbl 4312e and now I miss it. I can safely say higher end JBLs would be my end game. 4343's like Prem has would be indeed a dream to pursue.

More than happy listening to music from Tidal streaming on wiim, playing on Indiq Achals and driven by Audiolab 6000A. Simple chain, good music, satisfied listener !
Where do get the wiim in india and how much does it cost? Do u use the dac on wiim or Alab?

Indeed. Now they the JBL Synthesis but very expensive including 4343s.
Prem has a bloody end game speakers🎯

How is the bass comparison between Heresy and Ahuja? How is the dynamics in Ahuja?
Cannot compare the bass as Ahujas are on a plain cardboard open baffle but Heresy sealed box. I think it keeps pace with Heresy otherwise. Did not feel I lost anything when hearing on Ahuja. Top end seems a bit sharp and clear. Like both of them and keep switching.

At times feel like pulling out all drivers from Klipsch and plug in the Ahuja (same dia opening) and make it "Klihuja" full ranger ;) ;)

While when I switched from Jamo E855 to Heresy I felt I lost the flabby bass, though bottom end was not heard but really felt (12" woofer vs 2 x 5.5"), clarity improved leaps and bounds.

When one is on the wrong side of the century, endgame sounds ominous. Me, for my endgame, I would like a young pair of ears. The ones that I have now can't tell a Tidal from a MP3. I can imagine how silly it would sound if I said that my end game was a pair of the beautiful SF speakers.

BTW, I do have 15 inch speakers, just saying, as I read in another thread that they were the bees knees, but most of the time they make undesirable bowel movement like sounds more than music.

At times I feel like exchanging my ears with my daughter's super sensitive ones so that I can hear what I cannot now and she can be at peace when I play music that has a lot of HF.

She is a violinist who cannot stand hearing violin on a music system

I have reached my end game atleast for the foreseeable future.

KEF R3 paired with Arcam SA30 and REL T9X.
Above config is within my HT chain via HT bypass with Marantz SR5015, Kef R2C, Kef Q150 (surrounds) and Polk RC60I in-ceiling Atmos speakers. Paired with a beautiful LG OLED 55”.

I’m just enjoying it and hope this will keep me happy for many more years to come!

Thank you, Subbu. I too find Ahuja speaker interesting. In fact, I am using it behind the screen as center channel. It sounds superb.
