Probably. I did not get any email either. Perhaps they don't send emails to Mega pack subscribers as they will get the channel automatically. But you will get an STB alert in a couple of days.

Actually I have a surround system(logitech x540), am planning to upgrade to Denon dht-1312xp and wanted to know if i will be able to get Dolby surround sound or not.

Unless the source outputs 5.1 sound, you cannot get it on your HT be it 5.1 or 9.1.

This maybe the wrong place to ask this question but pardon me as this is my 1st post
I have videocon d2h installed 2days ago(cost me 1000 for installation and 449p.m. will be the cost of the highest pack which includes 20hd channels and all other sd channels)
My querry is regarding the audio format that the HD channels are relayed with, are they 5.1 dolby digital or not, if yes then can i access that via the optical digital out of my led tv(samsung ua46es7500r) DTH box has no digital\component audio out
Now videocon d2h got 22 hd channels(total no of channels close to 300) and already started giving dolby 5.1 audio via spdif output from back..u need a av receiver to get that audio..by december probably all 22 hd channels will have dolby 5.1 audio...best dth service now.

First recharge your account for Rs. 6400 (including HD) or Rs.5500 (SD only). Than talk to the helpline to adjust your recharge towards Megapack.

.tune to Star World HD..then click on info button(i+)..then click on yellow button..you will see various audio option on upper left hand corner..click on left arrow/right arrow button to select the English Dolby digital audio and then click on Ok. If u are connecting ur tv with HDMI the sound will go off..u have to connect spdif cable at the back of set top box to receiver to get 5.1 dolby sound.

With the recent change in HD policies by Tata Sky, as a subscriber I feeling cheated and looking for other DTH service providers.
In Tata Sky now there is no HD pack.
They have brought in the concept of HD fascilitation charges of 100 rupees. and one will be able to watch an available HD channel only if he subscribes for its SD version.
This is clearcut cheating,
why I need to pay for SD and HD both the versions of a channel, if I want to watch only HD one.
The regulatory need to take care of the issue.
Can any one suggest how to raise Voice against this.

I agree, this is pure cheating even I am considering to shift.
One thing we can do is to send a mail to CEO, ([email protected]), we can raise our protest in this way.

This is non-sense. Why will anybody watch SD Channel, when HD is available. What is the use of subscribing to SD version?
But HD Pack is still listed on the website. Is there any date on which this change will come into effect?

With all the adversity going on for Tatsky's abismal HD policy I like to share an appreciative work from Tatasky.
I booked tatasky on 31st Aug and was entitled for 4 HD movies. But as I was a monthly pack user and I booked it through IVR the offer got over within a month which I was not aware of. Last night I booked a movie thinking its a free for me but they charged 75. When I asked CC to revert it back they did it within 24 hrs, altough they are not entitled to do so. I clearly told that I was not aware of the validty and they agreed that as its first time so they will revert it back and did it.
So in a nutshell tatasky may charge lil bit more/abnormally but their service is really world class and that should suffice a bit of adversity.

Really upset after reading it. I used to appreciate the TS HD pack policy of having all HD channels in it and also for including event based channels in it free of cost.
As per the new policy, I won't be getting the following HD channels: Star Gold HD, Star Cricket HD, Star World HD, ESPN HD; because as of now I am not subscribed to the SD version of these channels.
Enforcing SD channels on HD customers doesn't make sense. Its only for them to make more money by forcing customers to subscribe to channels which customers don't want. Very bad.
