Which AVR for Wharfdale obsidian?

i am just a noob compared to all of you guys, so need your expert opinion.

I just ordered the Wharfdale Obsidian 600 package through HiFi mart... :yahoo:
now need to get an AVR

I was thinking about onkyo 616, would that be powerful enough?

I have a friend coming over from US in Jan, and he promised to carry it for me from there.

I need a little more information, like model number etc..

I'll give you details of what I am looking for:

1. 3D pass through, planning to get a 3D projector later. (4 - 6 months)
2. enough to power the speakers
(i am total noob, so this brings up another question, is it possible to supply the speakers will different amount of power.
The FS can take upto 200W at 6ohm, but the rears and the center can't take that much power)
3. THX select 2 certified (atleast)
4. I am not an audiophile absolutely new in the field so i am sure I won't notice any difference between 0.05% THD and 0.03% THD.
but anything about 0.05% THD is too high (i think)
5. pre-outs so I can may be attach an external amp later.
6. pre-out for a sub-woofer (powered)
7. ability to decode HD audio
8. upscale to 1080p
9. USB port in the front
10. 7.2 (I plan to add a pair of bookshelves later)
11. excellent room calibration
12. 2 HDMI outs (projector/TV)

there is probably a lot more i don't know i need and you guys can be better judges at that.

AVR with preouts are not cheap.How much is your budget?

The onkyo 616 i was considering earlier is $375.00
but I can stretch my budget upto $450-$500

would that be enough?

Thanks, how is this one better than a onkyo 717.
The 717 is the same price
717 has higher wattage
717 has pre-outs 667 doesn't

667 does have pre-outs, in fact it was one of the main selling points of this avr.

717 definitely is better if you are getting it from U.S.A.

Hey guys,

the 809 is much cheaper ($100 difference) and is more or less the same as the 717

any major differences in the two that I haven't been able to spot?

oh and my friend won't be able to carry it from US, so i am thinking about ordering it through VIAaddress, any thoughts?
