Who Wants to be a Hifivision Guru ?? Are you ready ?

Hi friends,


I was thinking of starting a network of Hifi consultants among our members all over India.

Eligibility of Hifi consultant :

Lets decide it together, say 1000 or more posts and/or 300 or more thanked posts ??

Such members should voluntarily come forward and become a Hifivison consultant.

Second , he should specify what is his area of specialisations like HTPC, amplifiers, speakers, home-theater, media-streaming etc.. He can have multiple specialisations.

So what would this consultant/ Guru do ?

1) Lets say xyz joins the forum and asks his starting question , what system should he buy ?
First, he will fill out a form telling all like his budget, room size, music pref etc..
Then, one of hifi consultant preferabley from his city will volunteer to help him.
Then, close his case on one is to one basis. Others and general members can also make suggestions contributions etc as they are doing now.

2) Visits for audtion at a dealer / purchase auditons :

A hifi consultant can accompay the member to the dealer to understand the audition and equipment etc..

3) Home visits for auditions

ths is optional and entierly upto the guru to decide.

4) Troubleshoot a problem :

Entirely upto the guru how to help !

Hey Spidey,

This definitely sounds like a good idea. Let us go for it. Though of course, with the current requirements/eligibility criteria you have posted, it will take some time before I can volunteer to be a HFV Guru from Chennai. But I think the idea is nice and can definitely be implemented.

I would prefer number of thanked posts being a criteria to identify the Guru. We may have to identify the Guru based on the quality of posts made rather than the number particularly after looking at the "To HT or Not to HT" thread.
Just my thought.
