For those using Win 10, Gordon Rankin of Wavelength Audio has put up a warning.
Microsoft has messed up the USB drivers in the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition.
He has said that they have informed Microsoft Audio Group of the problem and they are working on it.

Gordon Rankin, the founder and designer of Wavelength Audio, is responsible for among other things the first consumer DAC to employ Asynchronous USB. You can find his Asynchronous USB Steamlength technology in a number of highly regarded DACs
For more on Gordon here is an Audiostream article: Q&A With Wavelength Audio's Gordon Rankin | AudioStream

Hi nikhil
Yes, even i read about it early morning

Any idea, how we start our windows 10 machines to stop updating to anniversary edition?

Is it part of windows update? or its a complete new version like 10.1 where you have an option not to go for it

@rikhav
There is an option to defer upgrades in settings -> Update & Security -> Advanced options.

Set it as a metered connection by settings -> networks & internet -> wifi-> advanced options -> set as metered connection.

This has stopped automatic upgrades for me.

Hi Ravi
What I wanted to know is that is that anniversary upgrade a complete version upgrade or like small patch upgrades we keep on getting
I will also check upgrade list to verify
Thanks

AFAIK it is an update. MS is calling it as anniversary update and not upgrade.

If you find something different please let me know.

I also face same USB problem with my NOKIA smart phone. Before win10, all versions finding my nokia phone through Nokia Suite. So I can take backup of my contacts and messages and can restore back to phone. Now my Win10 not ready to recognise my phone. :(

I updated to the Anniversary edition and haven't noted any issues with USB. Everything appears to work fine!

Could you please point me to the relevant forum thread?
