Windows XP - Screen saver & Auto Monitor off Problem.

Dear All,

The screen saver and auto monitor off does not work for one of my HP Pavillion DV 5118TX laptops. It runs on Windows XP having only 1GB RAM and 100GB HDD.It is 5 years old.

Is it a software or hardware problem because I dont want to reinstall the OS which is cumbersome, found lots of troubleshooting online but none of them works.Many users are facing the same problem. I have tried different timings but the screen saver or auto monitor off doesnt work.

Any idea ??

Did you check power mode settings in device manager video settings options .

first uninstall video device from device manager, restart your machine and then reinstall vga driver. this will fix your problem.
